Synopsis:
Laura, Lina and Romay (Candela, Denise and Sofie Evans respectively) are travelling through the middle of nowhere when their vehicle brakes down. They seek help at the residence of Dr. Quentin Foster (Xavier Canals) who tries out his potion on the unknowing three that turns them hypersexual but also backfires and turns them into murderous bloodthirsty zombies.

Audio/Video:
GoreX is presented with a Spanish 2.0 stereo track which isn't the best. For some reason the audio seems to favor the right side and therefore sounds unbalanced. There are also some glitches in the audio where a few words here and there appear to be missing. There aren't any other language tracks or any subtitle options available for the feature film.

As with the audio, the video presentation for GoreX is lacking. The film is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1. There are sporadic video glitches throughout the presentation. The bit rate also appears to be too low in places causing occasional pixels to appear on the screen. None of this will ruin the viewing experience, but at least the bit rate problem should have been fixed.

Special Features:
There are two extras included on the disc. There is a photo gallery that contains 98 stills that you flip through. There is also a 13 minute making of the movie feature.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with a simple menu system that is easy to navigate. There are 9 chapters available from the chapter menu. Each one is identified by a video clip from where the chapter is located in the film. There are 9 chapter stops within the feature film as well. There is a time code encoded on the disc.

General Review:
GoreX started out with a good concept, one that I think could really work well and hasn't been done to death, or possibly ever done before, in an adult movie. A nice combo of sex and horror featuring females who are experimented upon turning them hypersexual, with the side effect of also turning them into killer zombies. However, like the last movie I saw by Ángel Mora, the movie feels rushed and incomplete, which is too bad. The story itself doesn't feel polished, or complete, but instead seems like portions of it were well thought out and the rest was rushed around it to be able to make the film.

Most of the sex scenes feel pushed into the film to make it into an adult film as well and don't naturally happen which, considering the openness in the plot to have sex scenes that fit in, is too bad. The majority of the sex scenes come across as lackluster in nature as well. The opening lesbian scene doesn't fit in at all and seems rushed through. It could have been moved to before the third scene and fit in better with what was going on. Which still doesn't help the rushed and incomplete feeling it had but at least would have made it fit in the movie better. The hard rock music that blasts during the sex scenes drowning out any actual audio doesn't help either. I don't mind music during sex scenes, but not when it becomes distracting. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal sex with lesbianism, pussy fingering, pussy eating, anilingus, blow jobs, and titty fucking. Condoms are not used for any of the sex scenes.

The gore effects are the best part of the film and seem to have more care put into them than either the sex scenes did or the plot did. One, where Franco cuts his finger, seems out of place. I think it is supposed to be a running gag where he keeps getting hurt, but just seems out of place. However, when the film gets into the zombies attacking and Jess's attack on them the gore seems nicely done. And Nacho Vidal does a great job as Jess when he goes on a rampage against the zombies. Although ultimately the film is a disappointing letdown, I think this is the film I have most enjoyed seeing Nacho in. As far as the sets and locations go, the standard interior sets look rather standard. The exterior locations and the basement were great though.

Parting Thoughts:
All in all, I think that a more experienced adult movie maker could do a great job with the ideas presented here, especially if Ángel Mora was brought in to oversee the gore scenes. However, as presented here, GoreX comes across as a jumbled incomplete film which will ultimately frustrate viewers. I'd recommend passing on this one, even if you are a fan of one or more of the cast members as even most of the sex scenes are a let down.
