Initial Expectations: I’ve heard very good things about Sineplex and Selena Silver has been very nice in front of the camera. I’m looking forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: Although I started out liking the movie, by the end I was more apathetic.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are very nice for gonzo porn. The video is clear and pretty well balanced. There is a hint of a background noise in a couple places, as well as a few comments you can hear from off camera. The video is also very good. It has a slightly soft feel, and almost a little grain, but is nicely lit.

Music: There’s a little music during the teases, but that’s it.

Disc Complaints: There’s no time stamp here, which is one of my biggest pet peeves with DVDs. I sometimes like to jump directly to specific points in the DVD, and without the time stamp it’s not possible. From what I understand, adding a time stamp takes a minimum of money and effort, so the lack of one always brings a DVD down a little for me. Thankfully Sineplex puts in quite a few chapter breaks so a person can get fairly close to where they want to go later.

Menus: The menus are pretty good. The main menu is the least impressive, blending a clip of the movie, a couple stills, and the choices in a kind of thrown together manner. The chapter menu is nicely done, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and the names of the ladies in the scene. There’s also a fetish menu which lets you jump directly to sex acts such as ass to mouth, cumshots, or stacking.

The Feature

Gooey Buns doesn’t bother with those things called “plot”, “story”, or “setups”. Instead each scene gets right down to the action, and each scene has at least one cream pie in it.

Scene 1 - Selena Silver, Victoria, and a guy

Selena starts things off seductively walking up a circle staircase in a hot black outfit and knee high fuck-me boots and finding a white fishnet-clad Victoria. Selena retrieves a cock, as well as the man attached to it, and leads it out to Victoria. They team up to suck it before Selena takes a quick taste of Victoria. This is a pretty good scene. Selena and Victoria have great chemistry, but the guy seems to have a few minor problems. His pop seems like it takes a lot of work to get to, and he doesn’t seem to listen to the girls when they ask him to do things like spank them. The camera work also let me down slightly as there were a few times it seemed to have problems getting the right angle. It’s still a good scene, but it could have been a little better.

Scene 2 - Monika, Suzy Spark, Juliano Ferraz, and a guy

After a quick phone call from Monika, two guys show up to take care of her and Suzy. Suzy seems a little shy about sucking cock, but does try working on her partner with her feet. All it takes for Monika to get into it, on the other hand, is seeing it. The girls move on to get fucked by their respective man before Monika takes a nice cum bath. This scene didn’t make it much beyond average for me, and once again the camera work seemed slightly off to me. I frequently wanted to see something slightly different, and quite a few of the shots were slightly blocked or seemed a bit too close. There also wasn’t much of a balance between the girls in the scene, which threw things off a bit for me too. Both of the girls do a good job when the camera’s on them, but the scene never made it much beyond average for me.

Scene 3 - Agnes, Mira, and Kid Jamaica

Agnes and Mira start out taking about how Kid Jamaica is always late. Surprisingly he shows up before they can start things without him, and they quickly get started. You can almost see the reactions of the girls, but not quite. It’s like the cameraman prefers a mid-distance shot to split the baby, but in doing so he ends up killing much of the scenes for me. The editing in this scene also seemed fairly amateur for me as it showed things such as a break when the Kid turned around and started walking away since he appeared like he was problems working himself up to the second pop. This scene also didn’t quite work for me because I liked what I saw from Mira much more than I did from Agnes, and Agnes was the major focus of the scene. Once again, this ended up as a slightly above average scene, but not much more than that.

Scene 4 - Megan, Suzie, and a guy

Megan and Suzie, both of whom are extremely hot, start things off checking out a little lingerie while a guy watches them. The three of them quickly get on to working each other over orally before Suzie lays atop Megan to get fucked. Suzie also takes it from behind while Megan eats her pussy. This is a pretty hot scene, but also slightly odd. There’s great chemistry between Suzie, Megan, and the guy, but Suzie’s running off in the middle of the scene gives it a bit of an odd feel. Other than that, the girls are both great here! They put some nice energy and enthusiasm into the scene, and break it up nicely with Suzie handling the vaginal and Megan handing the anal. This is easily one of my favorite scenes in the movie despite the odd feel in the middle.

Scene 5 - Autumn Haze, Olivia Saint, and a guy

Olivia and Autumn start things out by themselves. Olivia gives Autumn’s nipples a little tongue attention before Autumn lets her fingers work on Olivia’s holes. This is a pretty good scene to finish up with. I love how it starts out different with the lesbian action and brings in the guy to play with them as well as Autumn’s enthusiasm for the cum in Olivia’s ass. Sadly, that than that it seems like the same scene that was shown previously. It has all the problems of the previous scenes and doesn’t feel like it has anything else new to offer.

Gooey Buns is a good start towards a great movie. On the plus side, there’s some nice chemistry in each of the scenes and almost all of the girls look like they love cum. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ended for me. Every scene was problematic for me, and the biggest problems were a lack of creativity and the camera work.

The camera work plagued each scene for me, and seemed to be obsessed with the idea that only the sex act being done matters. To me, and I’m sure that I’m not alone here, that’s only half of what’s needed. I also want to see the reaction of the girl who’s having the action done to her, and sometimes even that of the guy doing it to her. Without that, I don’t really have an idea if the people are really enjoying what they’re doing or not. This is mostly missing through the movie, which I guess shouldn’t be surprising since Sineplex didn’t even take the time to give credit to the director (or directors) or the male talent! This also turned me off, as I feel that if somebody does a good (or even bad) job they deserve some of the credit for the job that was done.

The other problem I had with the scenes was a lack of creativity. Yes, I know, this is porn and you don’t really need to have the performers juggling flaming bottles of Bacardi 151 while whistling Dixie, blinking the fifth chapter of Moby Dick (which some might take as a health message as they think it’s a type of social disease), and taking an anal cream pie. In my mind, however, you need enough so that the performer doesn’t get bored and start thinking that they saw the scene they’re watching earlier in the movie just with different people. That thought crossed my mind several times throughout Gooey Buns, mostly due to the stacking. Stacking can be okay now and then, but it ended up being a major part of every scene! Yes, it shows off asses nicely, but it also means that the girls don’t interact much with each other, and when there’s two girls and a guy and one girl just ends up sitting there for the most part I feel that she isn’t into the scene that much. Due to the amount of stacking, I often had this feeling and started to get bored with the movie before it was halfway done.

Even with those problems, Gooey Buns did have some good performances and does make it above average. As usual, Selena Silver does a very nice job, and she and Victoria really seemed like they enjoyed each other. Megan and Suzie’s scene was probably the highlight of the movie, however, as they started out with fantastic chemistry and kept it going right until Suzie oddly ran off screen never to return. Even then, Megan did a good enough job that I had a hard time letting my mind wander back to wondering about Suzie’s departure. Gooey Buns is an okay anal cream pie movie, but far from original.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery contains over eighty very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. It’s nicely broken down by the lady in the gallery, and there’s a menu which lets you jump directly to whoever you want to see in the gallery. Trailers are included for Chasin Tail 4, Enjoy 4, No Limits 4, and Sky’s Perversions 2. There’s also a bonus scene, a cumshot loop running about two and a quarter minutes, and weblinks.

Bonus Scene - Jewel Marceau

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Sineplex DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $28 with many stores offering them for around $20. Rent this one first. There’s some good action, but much of it is repetitive so that it might not have a lot of replay value by the time you’re done. The technical aspects are pretty good, and there’s even some decent extras to make this a nicely done DVD.

Note to Sineplex: A few changes could help you out a lot. Give the people involved a little credit! People follow the directors and guys as much as they follow the women, and most customers like knowing what they’re going to get. Also, get a little more creative! This is a good idea and should have ended up better than what it did!
