Production Values

Brandon's a pretty good shooter and pays attention to lighting as well as audio. This title isn't any different than other titles of his I've seen.

At the time of this writing (July 2004), many titles from Platinum X Pictures display an abnormal chroma shift. The fancier your A/V equipment, the worse it is. The unwanted effort often appears as a multi-colored halo and is not tied to MPEG-2 decoder or video DAC circuitry; most likely, it's an encoding error being introduced very late in the production process, possibly in the final DVD replication. This chroma shift shows up a bit on my primary A/V setup as well as my bedroom TV. It is more prominent on my laptop's DVD player but in any case, the effect is not enough to detract from my enjoyment of the action.

Much has been made of this shortcoming, but it appears that folks at PXP have acknowledged the problem and are taking measures to rectify the situation. Only time will tell if they're successful, but it would be a shame if their disc quality cannot be brought up to the quality of their best competition.

DVD Extras

Behind The Scenes (10 min.) - this is a vignette of some of the sideshow stuff and includes a nasty little story by Heidi who unfortunately is not miked well. In a less desirable episode of authenticity, we get a shot of Gia's lunch. Thankfully, they move on and we see Performer of the Year Michael Stefano as one of the grips. Even more amusing is watching Gia talk to one of her friends on her cell phone as she's surrounded by guys stroking their dicks. It appears that Taylor was introduced to anal sex by Erik (wow, what an intro!) and Trinity gives some post-event comments.

Bonus Footage (7 min.) - this extra scene is Taylor taking on a couple of studs as well as their generous loads.

Photo Shoot (4 min.) - video footage of the still shoots; interestingly, there is no separate photo gallery on this DVD, so apparently they only used the stills for the box cover (and maybe some online content). And finally, there's the oddest DVD extra I've encountered to date...

I enjoyed how he exercised his director's privilege of getting a personal blowjob, so that's something that could be retained.
