The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Voodoo House and Jonalungus have really been impressing me lately. I'm going into this one with pretty high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It's a hot and fun movie, but the technical aspects hold it back slightly.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting straightforward sex with a fun and quick opening premise

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting the three hours of sex the cover makes you believe are here

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty average. The audio is clear and well balanced for the most part, but there are a couple very minor background noises. The video is presented very nicely in anamorphic widescreen, but is also a touch on the weak side. It's normally clear, but also frequently gets just a little on the dark side and has a fair amount of camera motion.

Music: There's a little music that's nicely balanced with the rest of the audio here and there, but that's about it.

Menus: The main menu works through a few stills and clips from the movie as well as a minor opening credit sequence letting you know who the girls are before settling in for a few stills and a little fairly generic animation. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a clip of each scene and the girl in it. There's also a Pick Your Pleasure menu in the extras that lets you go directly to specific sex acts such as blowjobs, doggie, or cumshots.

The Feature

Certain things are a matter of fact for me. Shrinkage is one of them, and morning wood is another. As the first doesn't provide much of a premise for a porno, Voodoo House has instead chosen to work the scenes in this movie around the latter.

Scene 1 Holly West and Danny Wylde

When the alarm close goes off, Danny wants to get a little more sleep but hot brunette Holly feels the need for some action. Scene 2 Crissy James and Justice Young

Scene 3 Rachel Roxxx and Justice Young

Scene 4 Maya Gates and Jack Venice

Maya starts out the penultimate scene showing she knows more about sex than cooking as she tries making eggs wearing sexy white lingerie while making the mistake of using a metal spatula in a non-stick pan. Sadly the camera work feels a little on the rough side once again, but the sex is once again hot enough to make it fairly easy to look past. This is another nice scene.

Scene 5 Jaclyn Case and Jack Lawrence

This is another of my favorite scenes in the movie. The opening is every bit as fun as the others, and Jaclyn's not again reaction gave it a nicely different feeling. She and Jack have every bit as strong of chemistry as in the other scenes, and Jaclyn is nicely energetic and vocal. The only thing that holds the scene back is Jack's below average pop but this is still a very hot scene that ends the movie on a high note.

Good Morning Woody is a fun fuck flick. The openings for the scenes are all pretty simple, but at the same time they're different enough from the typical porno opening and fun enough in general that it's hard not to like each scene as it starts out. That feeling is easy to keep as there's great chemistry throughout the movie with the entire cast looking like they're having plenty of fun. Rachel Roxxx easily turned out my favorite scene, but Crissy was the only one to get near the average level due to her having a little too much of that porn newbie feeling. The only thing that really holds Good Morning Woody back is the camera work. There's quite a bit of camera motion and also a lot of the movie seems just a little too dark. This gives Good Morning Woody a rough feeling that just didn't work that well for me and fought with the fun feeling that helped out every scene. Good Morning Woody has a fun feeling and great chemistry, but there's also a rough feeling to the camera work that holds it back to being just a good movie rather than a great one.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Trust Justice, Busty Loads, Frat House Fuckfest 7, and Freaky First Timers 5. The photo gallery lasts about six and a quarter minutes with about four seconds per nice looking snapshot. There's also Show Spy footage, weblinks, a pair of behind the scenes featurettes, and a bonus scene.

The bonus scene is actually a pair of featurettes lasting about three and a half minutes each followed by the actual bonus scene. Maya has a couple minor words with Justice before she starts showing off in her lingerie. She strips down and lets her hands wander around her body lightly, and barley gets as far as rubbing her clit. There is about thirty seconds of light masturbation, but that's about it. Jaclyn is next, who has a few words before grabbing a vibe and turning it loose on her pussy. This is a nice pair of eye candy featurettes, but the DVD authoring seems boneheaded to me. At first glance it looks like just a single three and a half minute featurette rather than a pair of featurettes plus a full scene. It wouldn't have taken that much more effort with the DVD authoring to let the viewer chose between Extra Maya Eye-Candy, Extra Jaclyn Eye-Candy, and Busty Loads Bonus Scene.

Bonus Scene Lichelle Marie and Justice Young

The bonus scene comes from Busty Loads. The action is captured very well for the locations and the control over the shooting environments, and although the editing is on the choppy side it's easy to see why. This is a very hot scene and a great bonus scene.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Voodoo House's DVDs can be found online for between about $16 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $20. Rent this one first or aim for the lower end of the price range on this one. The setups are fun and there's nice chemistry to the sex, but there's also a rough feeling to the camera work that put me off slightly. The technical aspects are pretty average thanks to a fair amount of dark video, but there is a bit of effort put into the extras. This is a pretty good release with a fun idea behind it, but the video holds it back a bit.

Note to Voodoo House: You've been putting out some very enjoyable and very solid DVDs. There's no need to stretch the running time in a way that's deceptive to the consumers.
