Review:
With two rape scenes (one quite graphic and including fisting), two scenes featuring John Holmes (who had a legendary, yet complicated, career and a tragic personal life), and two more scenes set in a fictional bordello beset by the IRS, it's a pretty safe bet to say that "The Golden Age of Porn: Rhonda Jo Petty" is an edgy and varied release by today's standards. A very good compilation from Gentlemen's Video, this one certainly doesn't pull any punches with its content, nor does its star, Ms. Rhonda Jo Petty, lack in the looks department, either. Indeed, she's as stunning here as her carnal career was distinguished. While the harder material might be off-putting to some, as might be its age, this piece still highlights a slice of the Golden Age of adult films that will likely never be matched again. For those with a bent for the naughtily nostalgic or for those looking to broaden their pornographic horizons, this one is worthy.
In terms of the sex, Scene One finds the beautiful blonde Hall of Famer, Rhonda Jo Petty, easing the taxman's frustrations after his inability to reconcile her brothel's finances. Of course, the manner in which she does this is with her hand and mouth...and she's incredibly good at it...ultimately bringing him to a gooey pop. Hot! (Interspersed here is a bit of girl-on-girl action in another room that involves Gaylene Marie and Misty Dawn.)
In Scene Two, a biker gang chases Rhonda down in the woods after spotting her roadside, looking super-cute in her little sundress. Of course, these guys have nothing but bad on their minds, as they throw her up on a bike, hold her down as she struggles, tear off her dress, and cut off her panties with a knife. As the others hold her down, one of the guys fucks her until he pops on her smooth-shaven pelvis, while another unloads on her face. To add insult to injury, the dudes call over a brunette who's riding with them, and she eats her out and then proceeds to give her a decent fisting. The gang leaves after pushing the nude Rhonda into the dirt. Pretty shocking stuff. This type of rape sequence would be a big "no-no" today.
Scene Three is a continuation of the last, with the legendary John Holmes happening upon Rhonda, unconscious and nude, and bringing her back to his bedroom. Given his own disheveled look, his digs are pretty fancy. After a bit of getting to know one another--and after John has to subdue Rhonda after she comes at him with a knife--the two get it on on the floor of his parlor room. This sequence, soft and sensual, is in clear juxtaposition to the violence of the last. Ultimately, he gets his famously infamous meat inside of her and gives her a decent dicking in missionary before glopping up her tummy. Nice.
In Scene Four, Rhonda is yet again raped, this time by a biker on what appears to be a sea-themed set for a play of some sort or, perhaps, for an artist. He forces her at knifepoint to disrobe, suck his dick, and let him eat and finger her. He fucks her hard in missionary, and she seems to enjoy it...unlike in the more violent prior sequence of this type...and the "good times" culminate in a cum-shot on her tummy and pelvis. Another shocker. (John Holmes pops in at the end here and both subdues and threatens the guy.)
Scene Five appears to be a continuation of the last, with Rhonda and John Holmes once again sating one another's desires, this time on a water bed. She sucks him off, and he fucks her...eventually dropping one on her tummy.
In Scene Six, things shift back to the brothel flick of the initial sequence, with Rhonda blowing a Texas cowboy who, judging from the dialog, might have been gay prior to meeting to her. (It's easy to imagine her turning just about anyone.) Intercut with this one is another scene featuring the dominatrix, Lisa La Monte, seducing and leashing up the tax guy. Rhonda's sequence finishes off with a handjob and a spurting orgasm on her hand, while Lisa's (all oral) closes out with her sucking and jerking the IRS dude to completion on her face and in her mouth while in a 69 position. Good stuff.
In all, this is a very good--albeit short--compilation from Gentlemen's Video that more than adequately highlights its star's better material. While its sexual violence and age might not sit well with many viewers, the glimpse into porno past that it provides simply can't be overlooked. For the proper crowd--which won't be everyone--it's distinctly recommended.
