Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Pixies) Review

NOTE: This is an amateur video. Amateur and homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely get close to the same quality technically. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade or amateur features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn for their technical aspects. The performers also aren’t normally the ‘glamour stars’ one expects from studio porn, and instead use people who look like somebody you might encounter in your day to day life. Finally, the camera work has a different feel, as it’s often shot from a tripod or with somebody who doesn’t have the technical training or experience of professional cameramen. That said, amateur and homemade features have a great charm to them, simple because the people in them are doing what they’re doing to have fun and because they enjoy it. All the things that separate them from studio porn contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review and not just look at the ratings as the ultimate word on this release. Since the technical aspects are normally lacking and there normally isn’t much for extras in amateur features, I’ve weighted my overall rating more heavily towards the sex than I do in most studio porn.

Note #2: This is one of the earlier releases from Pixie’s Emporium. They’ve been gradually reworking their earlier DVDs, so I would expect current versions of this release to be much better technically, with menus, a photo gallery, and some improved technical aspects. I’m going to rate this one as I see it, but want viewers to be aware that they will probably get a much better version of this DVD than I’m reviewing.

The Short Story

Initial Expectations: What I’ve seen from Pixie’s Emporium has had it’s faults, but I’ve still enjoyed most of it. I’m expecting more of the same here.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks you need toys and nastiness to make a lesbian scene work

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: For amateur porn, the technical aspects are pretty good. The audio balance varies a bit, but most of the time is pretty good. There’s a little background noise from the TV in the room, but it’s something that’s there and it would almost seem wrong if it weren’t. The video is also pretty good. There’s a few remnants and soft focus blurs, but most of it is nicely done. The lighting is even and there’s barely any grain. The pans and zooms are done smoothly, and it’s all around nicely done for an amateur shoot.

Music: There’s a little of the song (and you know which song with this title) at the start of the movie as well as the end.

Disc Complaint: There’s a watermark in the lower right corner of the screen. I mention it here because I know that a lot of people really hate watermarks. On the plus side, it’s clear and it stays there consistently throughout the feature so that you can put it out of your mind fairly easily.

Menus: There’s only one menu, and sadly, it sucks. It’s extremely basic and pretty much just looks like cheap selection screen with one choice. It does anything but make a good first impression.

The Feature

After they get done with school, which is thankfully a school which required white shirts and plaid skirts, they decide to relax. They share a smoke, take a dip in the hot tub, and of course, take things a little further. Both have several tattoos, and Jesse also has her eyebrow, nostril, nipples, and navel pierced.

After talking in the hot tub, the girls get going with a bit of kissing. They’re not all play, though, and decide to head downstairs to get a little studying done so that they can watch a little TV. The books never seem to come out, as the girls watch TV while talking romantically wrapped in towels. After a bit they start to wander across each other’s body, kissing and playing lightly. They slowly go across each other’s tits before dropping down for a little muff munching. They each take a long turn eating each other out, with Jesse first giving and then receiving, and finish things up kissing and holding each other.

Before they head off, the girls get ready. One of them takes a shower while Jesse rubs lotion across her body so she stays nice and soft. They finally get dressed and head off.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun! is an excellent feature, and shows just why amateur porn grabs so many people and never lets them go. It can all be summed up in one work, chemistry. Everything in this feature is about chemistry and it makes the entire feature work. Neither of the girls are particularly attractive to me. I don’t find the human pawn shop that attractive and the other would be a lot better if she hadn’t turned herself into a walking art gallery. That said, not even ten minutes into the feature I was completely into both girls. They come off as real people rather than just caricatures and you can feel there’s something between them. Their eyes scream passion for each other more than their mouths ever could and it translates right through the body language of both of them. If that’s not enough, the action is nicely drawn out. It’s never rushed, and feels as if the girls are savoring each moment and taste of each other. Heck, it’s so good that I was afraid somebody might bring in a toy and that would have knocked the scene down a bit. My only complaint here is some of the camera angles. For amateur porn it’s very good, but there were a few times I felt the limitations and wanted an angle slightly different which wasn’t possible due to the location. Nevertheless, Girls Just Want To Have Fun! is an excellent lesbian porno that’s definitely worth checking out!

Currently, many DVDs from Pixie’s Emporium can be found for about $13. Even as a bare bones minimal DVD, this one’s worth it. The sex is extremely hot and overloads on chemistry. For amateur porn the technical aspects are also nicely done. Check this one out!

Note to Pixie’s Emporium: I hope that this one is on your list to remaster. In the future, a few credits would be very nice. If you list the girls you might find people checking out a few other videos to see more of the ones they like rather than just grabbing randomly.
