Girlcore S2 E4: Sweet Child Of Mine Review

If you're the kind of person for whom trophies equate to excellence, then AVN Hall of Famer and eight-time "MILF of the Year" actress Julia Ann is undoubtedly the greatest MILF performer of the past decade. Kicking off the 2020s in Girlcore's taboo "Sweet Child of Mine," her performance shows that the superstar actress' level of on-screen quality hasn't slipped. Girlcore's fourth in a series of six features has a very simple premise. A step-mother unleashes her pent up sexual interest on her step-daughter in the morning that the daughter is to be wed. The name of the feature is a tip of the hat to 80s hair metal icons Guns n Roses' 1987 hit song (and yes, Julia Ann even says that staring at Carolina Sweets could "make her break down and cry"). Certainly, in the method of filming and fashion, there are odes to 80s TV dramas and soap operas. More than anything though, this is just exemplary mother/daughter sex-play that actually demands multiple viewings.

In the best way possible, everything about Carolina Sweets in this feature gives off the vibe of "screw the plot, when do we get to the fucking?" Julia Ann is also distractingly gorgeous in a way that creates immediacy in regards to the anticipation of when she will begin the seduction of her daughter. The why and how of the matter are certainly important -- film, of course, is a visual medium -- but as the viewer, it's almost overcome by testosterone or estrogen surge from just how palpable the on-screen erotic tension is between the actresses.

"Give me a kiss before you say goodbye," step-mother Isabelle says to step-daughter Rose. Rose's impassioned kiss stuns her step-mother, but Rose's deeper revelation that she's been contemplating her sexuality and is also willing to explore her sexuality with her step-mother is revealed so well and responded to in kind so passionately by Julia Ann that it extends the scene-stealing impact of the film's opening moments to a factor of ten while minutes. This isn't foreplay, this is pump-priming at its best. By the moment the two actresses sit, embrace, and begin a deep makeout session, this is already outstandingly orgasmic material.

Julia Ann-as-Isabella's love-making gives a sense of exquisite deflowering. She undresses her daughter out of her wedding gown and then plays with her pussy while removing her undergarments as she's sitting on her lap. It's so tender and pure in appearance that it adds to the taboo intrigue of the scene. Moreover, there's being wet, and then there's whatever word exists to describe how beyond soppingly drenched Carolina Sweets almost perpetually is, here. It's when you get the camera closeup of her pussy and hear Julia Ann's hands very audibly flicking her clit that drives it home. It's an eye-opener of a moment that really informs the whole scene with the sense that the sex and the plot are in a dead-heat for driving the film's erotic passion.

Entertainingly, Julia Ann's woman-handling of Carolina Sweets magnificently evolves into this cavalier cougar-ish presentation and then devolves into extreme wantonness. There's something magical in how Sweets aggressively engages in her reciprocity that pulsates off the screen. By the close of the film, the phenomenal sixty-nine between the actresses involves both finger-fucking each other with matching levels of grace and skill. The film progresses from a taboo mother/daughter plot to closing as a white-hot lesbian fuck-fest. This is impressive.

If wanting yet another slightly tongue-in-cheek 80's pop culture-inspired sendup, this isn't it. Rather, "Sweet Child Of Mine" expands what Girlcore is doing by allowing the gimmick of 80's culture to enhance what was an already scintillating scene. Ever eaten a sweet cherry pie with a cherry on top? It's even better, right? I'm happy everyone caught the pun, too.
