Girlcore S2 E3: She Blinded Me With Science Review

The fact that it takes "She Blinded Me With Science" 31 minutes to build to a proper sixty-nine is nothing short of mind-blowing. The third of six episodes in the second season of Adult Time's homage to 80's kitsch and hard sex is possibly the most plot and acting-driven vehicle of the series to date. For purposes of highlighting adults (and not teens) engaging in hardcore sex acts, Cadence Lux and Serena Blair play Elizabeth and Janie, two horny twenty-somethings motivated by pizza, cheese balls, imaginary girlfriends, video games and boobs. Yes, boobs. "Boobs" is even the secret passcode Elizabeth uses to enter Janie's parents' house where they stare longingly at women's lingerie catalogs. For a film driven by the idea that lesbian neophytes are being taught the ropes on how to be the filthiest sluts possible, it certainly has all of the earmarkings of a PG-13 teen romp. Enter Kenzie Taylor. Once she appears, things escalate QUICKLY.

Janie works at Radio Shed and has figured out how to use computer coding to program a computerized sex robot with whom they can engage in simulated lesbian sex. Cadence Lux's turn as Elizabeth is particularly great. She's the "sex-mad and overconfident teenage boy" of the tandem, carrying around his mother's underwear to simulate a "Canadian girlfriend." She wants this virtual sex robot to have "big boobs she can motorboat and nibble like cheese balls," as well as a vaginal bush. Yes, the plot development in "She Blinded Me With Science" takes what feels like forever. But if you're willing to play along, there are moments like these where Lux turns the character indulgence up to 11 that really hit home.

Long story short, after some machinations, the computer implodes, and the girls, sad and crestfallen, fall asleep. Our narrator -- Bree Mills in an excellent 80s era nod to Max Headroom -- notes that due to a malfunction, their virtual robot is a real woman. Enter into the film Kenzie Taylor as "Sex Robot Susie," a laser-gun toting Martian whose goal it is to satisfy all their lesbian desires.

There's a moment roughly 45 minutes into the hour-long feature where Kenzie Taylor has Serena Blair's cum glistening on her chin and dripping from her lips as Blair leans up from sitting on her face. It's at that moment that the method acting of Taylor as a service robot pleasuring two women must be noted.

This film moves at an intentionally deliberate pace. Taylor's here as a sexual guide, and if you're really into foreplay and tease/denial, you'll love this film. Taylor's bodacious physique as compared to the youthful softness of Lux and Blair becomes important to the erotic thrust of the proceedings when you see her teaching the post-teen tandem how to pleasure herself and each other. It's inherently seductive, and as it builds between a multitude of clit-touching scissor-pairs, finger-bangs, and cum-to-mouth explosions, it provides an exciting visual dynamic.

Moreso than anything, it's the fact that the sex here is laborious that makes the hour-long runtime feel as if it is moving at a comfortable pace. There's something much more earnest and true-to-life than is seen in either most porn farces or lesbian threesome romps in general. The fact that three women split ten spine-tingling orgasms in sixty minutes is very real. The endorphins flying off of Cadence Lux's performance are real. She's actually dripping with enough sweat that Kenzie Taylor suggests on the fly that Serena Blair licks the sweat off her back. That's amazingly hot. It just is. It seems like a small thing, but in the overall scope of the film in general, it speaks to the depth of earnest exploration happening.

The film closes with the threesome, tired and spent, canoodling in bed. The two girls who have conjured up this sex-driven Martian then realize that she's theirs forever. This is the type of film that has legs for sequels. While it's not a film that overwhelmingly stands out for sexuality, these are all characters so well-defined that you're more invested in their growth than their pleasure.
