Giants (Midnight) Review

Lots of pre-condom videos are being released on DVD these days. Most are better left unsung, but a few like this one are well worth noting. It appeared originally as Jocks Video Pac 07 and is still available from them in VHS (for more I might add then for this DVD transfer.) It features a bevy of stars from this bygone age: Leigh Erickson (a.k.a. Marc Bennett) a breathtaking blond in his twenties; Eric Manchester, a hell-of-a-hot dude, Mark Miller, another hot blond in his twenties; Cory Monroe, a sexy blond pig twink; J. T. Denver, a truly sexy and desirable stud; and others of like ilk. In addition, it featured the cocks of two of the most gorgeous men to ever appear in gay porn, Brian Maxon and Steve Henson.

It begins with Jeff Converse having invited Erickson, Manchester, and Miller for the weekend. He obviously has a hidden agenda from reading the Kinsey report on the number of men who have had homosexual experiences. And so, after dinner he gets them into a game of Truth or Consequences. Leigh, the blond Adonis with sensuous lips and carefully coiffed hair, is up first. Jeff challenges him to tell about a homosexual encounter. He can make one up, but it must seem plausible.

Leigh says that as a college student in need of money, he went to where he knew he would be picked up. The john who approached him was J. T. Denver. Now it doesn’t seem plausible that J.T. would have to pay for sex. But then again it didn’t seem plausible for Hugh Grant to have paid for a blowjob in Los Angeles. So, I guess truth is stranger than fiction after all. Anyway, after Leigh has got into Denver’s station wagon, Denver forces Erickson’s hand into his crotch. When J. T. pushes up Leigh’s shirt and plays with his nipples, the nipples and Leigh’s dick become erect. J.T. gives head, but Leigh doesn’t go down on J.T.’s impressive delectable hard-on. (Now, that’s definitely not plausible!) Moving to the back of the station wagon, Leigh buggers J.T. who cums while he is being fucked. Leigh then withdraws to flood J.T.’s balls.

Mark Miller now tells of being on the toilet on the third floor of the Y and noticing a hole in the wall next to him that looks out onto the urinals. First one and then two cocks appear in his view. Now it is Eric’s turn to tell a tail...er, tale. One day after gym class he was taking a shower. A lone guy was sitting on a bench. As Eric lathers his body, the bench man slowly strips and joins Eric in the shower. This dude is gorgeous, a veritable god to be worshiped! (Gregg Larrsen). But it is he who kneels before Eric. Moving to the bench, Eric fucks this beauty. What could have been a truly awesome scene is marred however by director Summers’ murky atmospheric lighting that obscures much of the action and eliminates all the details.

It is Jeff’s turn but he refuses. He is forced to take the consequences. This, of course, is what he has been planning all along. The guys strip him, and Eric goes down on his cock while Jeff alternately fellates Mark and Leigh. It is not Jeff, however, but Eric who really comes out of the closet, becoming the most aggressive of the participants. He chows down on Mark’s cock and then takes it up the ass. Jeff sits down on Leigh’s prick. Eric, now a real sex pig, sucks Mark’s dick while taking Jeff’s up the rear, and getting doused with Leigh’s jism.

All the ingredients are here to make this a great and memorable film, but the director’s arty gimmickry in Eric Manchester’s scene was an irritant. These guys didn’t need production values. All one needed to do with studs like these was just put ‘em, out in the blazing sun and let ‘em fuck.
