Initial Expectations: Both Kelly Erikson and Red Ezra normally impress the heck out of me. I’m looking forward to this one!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few background noises. The video is also nicely done. It’s very well lit, and has a soft feeling to it that works well for the movie. There’s a few slow motion effects, but they rarely bring the movie down.

Music: The music sometimes dominates the audio, but it has a soft and sexy feel that works well for the movie. Some of the music even has lyrics, which works and stands out nicely.

Menus: The main menu works a still together with a bit of animation for a nice first impression. The chapter menu is very basic and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature

Everything at Kelly’s job revolves around her company making a new deal. Her entire life has started to revolve around her job, and as soon as they land the deal she comes home to find her boyfriend cheating on her. As a reward for making the deal, and to help her get a little much needed downtime, her boss George gives her an all expense paid week at the best resort on the west coast.

Scene 1 - Crissy Moran and Jake Ryan

Bridgette adds a nice bit of nastiness to the movie, but it still manages to keep a soft feel to it. This is a decent finish for the movie.

The Getaway is a decent piece of adult fluff. There’s just enough plot to setup the entire movie, and from then on a thirty second warmup seems like all that’s needed to start each scene. The scenes themselves are a bit on the soft side, but always beautifully shot. Kelly Erikson does a nice job in the lead role. She sometimes feels like she’s reading her lines off cue cards that she has to translate from another language for the non-sex portions of the movie, but sexually she does a great job and she always looks great. Her scene with Laurie Wallace is easily the best scene in the movie, but her two threesomes are also pretty good. Crissy Moran and Lonnie, unfortunately, are the weakest points in the movie, with Crissy earning her prize from enthusiastically moaning like she’s in mid-orgasm before her partner even goes down on her and Lonni earning hers for looking like she isn’t sure what to do. The Getaway is a light and easy porn flick, and that’s okay because that’s all it ever seems like it wants to be.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Metro’s DVDs can be found online for between $12 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. I’d aim closer to the low end here. The movie is nicely done, but does have a few weak spots. The technical aspects show some nice care, but there’s barely any attention given to the extras. This is a nicely done movie on a lacking DVD.

Note to Metro: A little more polish would be a very good thing. More chapter breaks are always liked, and at the very least please have one for the non-sex or setup portion and another for the sex scene. Extras would also be great. With how much personality Kelly has it seems a shame not to show it in a behind the scenes featurette!
