The Gay Simple Life is a comedic gay hardcore reality movie that was conceived and directed by mr. Pam. The Gay Simple Life was inspired by the 2003 television series The Simple Life created by Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Happily, mr. Pam hasn't just made The Simple Life: An XXX Parody; instead, she has developed an original reality-style movie devised around the two stars Calvin Banks and Josh Moore.

Calvin Banks and Josh Moore, playing themselves, are in the Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie roles in The Gay Simple Life. The two porn stars are dropped in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a week, with no Wi-Fi, and without a clue as to what is going on. During the week, Ricky Larkin, Cade Maddox, and Dakota Payne are on hand to take the two men to their challenge for the day, and a sexual interlude to go along with the daily challenge. Robert Butler serves as their local guide.

Over the week, their challenges are to drive a semitruck, go fishing, bake cupcakes, and perform at a drag bar. As one might expect, things tend to go awry with Calvin Banks and Josh Moore's challenges.

This review doesn't know how much of The Gay Simple Life was scripted, and how much of the movie was improvised. However, that doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of the movie. Calvin Banks and Josh Moore are absolutely perfect in their roles. The two play beautifully off of each other, and their comic antics are priceless! Robert Butler is also exceptional as the local guide, who never seems quite sure about what he agreed to while bringing the two around.

Ricky Larkin, Cade Maddox, and Dakota Payne are all excellent in their supporting roles as the handler for their moment of Calvin Banks and Josh Moore. Each brings a different color and tone to their challenge with the two men. The sex scenes are well worked into each challenge. In a move that this reviewer really liked, mr. Pam completely acknowledges that everything stopped for the sex scene, often having whoever wasn't involved mention the time it took after. This reviewer felt this added to the reality feel of the movie.

Each of the sex scenes takes place in the environment where the challenge took place, which adds a lot of variety to the scenes, and also leads to different looking sex scenes than one is accustomed to in an adult movie. The Gay Simple Life is shot hand-held style, like reality shows are, which adds to the overall feel that the movie is completely improvised.

Whether you are gay, bi, straight, or any other sexual identity, you will find a lot to love in The Gay Simple Life. The movie is legitimately hilarious — NakedSword could easily release a softcore version that would still hold up — and the viewer becomes captivated by Calvin Banks and Josh Moore and what is going to happen to them. The Gay Simple Life is highly recommended!

The Gay Simple Life was shot digitally, and the movie is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 1080p. The picture quality for The Gay Simple Life is gorgeous with a sharp, crisp picture and vibrant color. There weren't any noticeable defects in the image quality for the movie.

The Gay Simple Life is presented with an English MPEG AAC Stereo track. With one exception, the sound quality is beautiful. The one exception is during the show at LaRue's bar. When Fanny McCracken and Dominique LaRue are talking into the microphones, the sound is heavily distorted. Other than that one small period, the dialog is clear, easy to understand, and of perfect quality.

The Gay Simple Life is just a whole lot of fun, no matter how you look at it. mr. Pam has done a great job of making a movie that was inspired by, but doesn't just rip off, The Simple Life. Calvin Banks and Josh Moore are exceptional in the movie, and there isn't any escape from the laughter from their antics in Tusla, Oklahoma. The Gay Simple Life should be on your must-see list!
