The First Word: No music, no dialogue, no plot -- just sex and lots of it in John Leslie's Fresh Meat 10. What's It About?: This is an all-sex video with five unrelated scenes starring mostly Eastern European girls in hardcore action. Those who are familiar with John Leslie's style will see a lot of influence from his Voyuer series style: a lot of different camera angles and following shots, almost as if the camera is an active participant. I find the style somewhat distracting, but it does give you a "you are there" feel and it captures a lot of great angles. The scene breakdown is: Sharone, Dora Venter, and Nick Lang - This encounter, set in an indoor solarium with a pool, begins with the blonde, Sharone, donning high heels. We get a chance to se her nice tits and ass before John Leslie breaks out of chronological order. Skipping forward in time, the video alternates between Sharone getting fucked doggystyle and Dora giving Nick head. It then comes back to Sharone on the far side of the pool deck, masturbating with a clear dildo. She then gets in the pool to come over to the side where Dora and Nick are. Dripping wet (yummy!) from getting out of the water, she gives Nick a blowjob. As the threesome progresses, there's a lot of pussy-to-mouth (PTM), cocksucking, and different positions. I especially like the nice spoon position that affords some great penetration shots as Nick probes Dora. Alexxxis Tyler, Ryan, Mr. Marcus, & Lexington Steele - My favorite scene in Fresh Meat 10 is this interracial bang that starts out with Alexxxis blowing both of our ebony studs. The flash cut works well and isn't too confusing -- if anything, it gives the video a more creative and experimental feel to it. The creativity extends to the positions when they start screwing. The encore is composed of Lex buttfucking Alexxxis while Marcus does Ryan in the puss, with two more pops to finish things off. It's an A+ scene in my book, and probably worth getting the DVD just for that scene. Shiela Scott & Mike Foster - Unfortunately, after the best scene comes the weakest one. Shiela is a brunette with tattoos on both arms and is dressed in thigh-high boots. She first masturbates on the stairway of a house, then she sits on a toilet in the bathroom, writhing around and moaning. Wow, how exciting! (yes, I'm being sarcastic). Then, without explanation, Mike Foster's erect cock appears in front of her, and she of course sucks it. From there, it's three positions worthy of fast forward and then a weak facial. Strictly average fare, unless you have a thing for sex on a toilet. Eve, Rachel Moore, & Rick Masters - What starts out as a strap-on girl/girl encounter with Eve giving Rachel's ersatz cock a blowjob, becomes a three-way as Rick Masters shows up. Adrianna Sage & VooDoo - I like this motorcycle fantasy, set in the backyard of a cliffside mansion. It starts with the typical blowjob, but gets more creative as the two mutually masturbate in front of each other (I wish we saw that more often since it's quite a turn on). Among the intercourse positions is a great one where the two fuck while straddling the seat of the cycle. Anal fans will like the doggy assfuck and facials fans will like the shotgun pop that VooDoo delivers to Adrianna's pretty face. Overall, it's not as hot as the first two scenes, but this final scene is definitely worth watching. What I liked: Steamy, hardcore action: Fresh Meat 10 is a raincoater's delight. It's great eye candy, but also has a very hardcore edge. And it's refreshing to see a video nowadays that features hard sex without the usual circus accompaniments -- no gapes, DPs, gagging, and other unpleasantness. Aside from dud scene in the middle, it's highly watchable porn with great replay potential. What I didn't like: The Voyeur Style: I was just a bit uncomfortable watching this video since I'm so accustomed to hearing a musical score (whether it's the cheesy porn beat or more classic arrangements) and seeing some attempt at a plot or setup. I think the only thing that would make me more ill-at-ease would be a completely silent video. Similarly, the style of photography and editing is unnerving, with too many moving camera shots and abrupt, non-linear jump cuts (let's just swap the girls momentarily and then swap them again -- it doesn't have to make sense). Sure, it's creative and gives the video a unique feel, but it was distracting to me. Inline trailers: I don't really care for the long running practice of placing trailers for other movies at the beginning of the video. I mean, if trailers are going to be included, I think they should be under the extras menu, not in your face when you select 'Play.' Perhaps you can argue that you can always skip over them quickly if you don't want to watch them, but it just comes across as unnecessary marketing that should be a relic of the VHS era. DVD Extras: In addition to the standard EA photo gallery of 40-pics (twice the size of most studios' galleries), trailers, and miscellaneous bios and promotional information, the DVD includes two other features worth mentioning. First, the fetish menu, which is a standard feature on Evil Angel discs, is very helpful if you want to skip to a particular sex act in a particular scene. So if you're in a blowjob mood, you can pick up the action at that point. It's a feature that I see a number of studios copying for good reason. The other is the main supplement on the disc, a reel of more than 30 minutes worth of outtakes and extended sex scenes from the video. It's more raw, including some of John Leslie's direction to the talent, camera movement, and additional positions. It's a nice value-add that really doesn't cost the studio any more to include, and it give us an opportunity to see more of our favorite scenes and stars. A/V Quality: Another excellent job by Tricia Devereaux and Evil Angel -- this is a technically solid DVD with great video and problem-free audio. The audio is especially well-done considering that there's no music to hide flaws in the production soundtrack behind. The Last Word: I was surprised how much I liked this video since I'm not a huge fan of John Leslie's style. I remember picking up a Fresh Meat volume several years ago after it won the best series award and wasn't that impressed. However, the first two scenes and the last one are great porn, especially if you like to see enthusiastic, driving sex. And being a lover of interracial couplings, especially with my man, Mr. Marcus, the second scene was worth the purchase -- definitely one of the best I've seen in a while. If you don't mind your porn without any of the conventional wrappings ("plot?!? who needs plot???"), then you should add Fresh Meat 10 to your wish list.
