Weird, kinky, and very ambitious FREAKY THUGZ: THE FIRE WITHIN is the brainchild of Junito who also stars and directs. It supposes that there is a force which when unleashed will cause a man to lose his inhibitions and come out of the closet. (There is such a force, Junito, it’s called booze.)

It opens with Tiger Tyson squatting in the center of a ring of devotional lights masturbating. Thin smoke wafts over the scene. I assume Tiger is summoning the force. He does summon a load of cum.

We next find Junito and a friend leaving work late at night. Walking wearily though the park he encounters Tiger on a bench who asks him for a light. Tiger shares a joint with him. Then forces him to remove Tiger’s boots, his socks, and suck his toes. (Everybody sucks toes here.) Tiger has Junito bend over the bench and fucks him.

That night Junito has a dream. The setting is a bathhouse. It’s filmed with a red filter on the camera lens. Everyone wears white masks. On the roof toes and cocks are sucked. Junito dreams he gets a mouthful of cum. The wet dream gives him a hands-free ejaculation.

That morning he calls his girlfriend and breaks things off. Sitting in his Jacuzzi he calls a hustler. They suck cock (Junito sucks the cute guy’s toes, too.) and the hustler gets fucked.

There is a traditional hardcore scene when Junito calls a friend who’s in bed with his black lover. We see their suck-and-fuck.

Now comes a scene where Junito confesses his sexual conversion to his friend (the one we saw him with leaving work). The scene is washed out. It’s either filmed though a yellow filter or the film is ancient and no good. If this is intentional then are we to take this as just wishful thinking on Junito’s part? (Is it real or is it Memorex?) If it’s real then why the crappy film? Anyway, they kiss and get it on. (or do they?)

A next-door neighbor encounters Junito on the street. This handsome young Latino offers our hero something to smoke. He also runs into his friend so all three go back to Junito’s where they suck cock, toes, and fuck. Afterward the friend makes a reference to the events in the park that startles Junito. Eerie music.

As I said before the film is an ambitious undertaking, and I commend all for their willingness to undertake a different kind of film. But it’s really somewhat muddled. I think too it would have been better if Junito had been content to stay behind the camera. There are some hot guys in the film. Unfortunately Junito is not one of them. The film also plays right into the hands of the brain-dead religious demagogues who believe that any contact with a gay man will render one homosexual. If only that were true we would be in the majority. Until then, may the force be with you.
