The Review

Synopsis:
Cindy (Dayton) works behind the scenes in the adult industry as a script girl. One day a problem occurs on the set, an actor can't get it up and the film's director (Paul Thomas) convinces Cindy to “fluff” him. She gives such an amazing blowjob, he becomes obsessed with her but she wants nothing to do with him. He goes to a sex therapist to help with his problem, but that only makes things worse as she falls for him.

Video/Audio:
Fluff is presented in the full screen aspect ratio, 1.33:1, which is most likely the original aspect ratio for the film given its production year and company. The picture quality is decent but the image does exhibit grain which is especially bad in some places, which should not be present given the production year. The colors are correct.

The available audio track is a 2.0 English Stereo track, which is all that is necessary given the audio requirements for the film. The dialog can be easily heard at all times and the audio volume stays at a constant level throughout the film. No other language tracks and no subtitle options are available.

Chapters/Time Code:
There are six chapters available from the main menu, and they are identified by a video clip and a name for the scene. There are 14 chapters within the film itself. The chapter stops allow for good navigation within the film if you use the chapters in the film. The chapter stops selectable from the chapter menu allow you to get to the beginning of each scene only. There is a time code for the feature film, so time searching is available.

Special Features:
As usual, Vivid has provided several extras on the disc but almost none of them have to do with the feature film. There are the fetish rooms, which are linked to various fetishes within the feature film. There are links for pussy eating, blowjobs, missionary, cowgirl, doggy and angles. There are the multiple angles which are available during portions for the sex scenes. As per Vivid's norm, there are three different angles and the audio doesn't sync on angle two and three. The multiple angle icon can be turned off on the set up menu. The photo gallery contains 18 photos on a track in the Vivid pan and scan style where the camera moves around over the photograph.

As for the features that don't relate to the feature film, there are previews for Girl World with Cassidey 2, Blue Room, Dreams, and Rapunzel. There are bonus rooms, which are extra sex scenes, in two categories: Dayton, which has scenes from Inside Sex 2, Rapunzel, The Black Room, and Jumping Trash; and facials, which has scenes from Unconscious, Snapshot, Color Blind 2, and Zoom. There is the web, which is an advert for Vivid's internet presence. And help menu, which was truly designed by idiots, contains help for those who are confused on how to navigate through the disc. Of course, the genius who designed the disc buried the help menu in the set up menu, so once you have found it, you've figured out how to navigate the disc.

Review:
The plot for Fluff is very lame and completely unbelievable. This film is a far cry from the films of yesterday. The cast does a decent job with the limited material but no one stands out for being exceptional here. What the final result ends up being is your standard Vivid release, better than their average product in the early 90s but below that of the bigger companies.

The sex on the disc is average and uninspired. Everyone in the sex scenes appeared to be there just for the money only. The sex is tame making this film acceptable for couples viewing without much fear of upsetting your significant other. For viewers who care, condoms were used in all the scenes in the film. The sexual themes in the film are oral and vaginal sex with deep throating.

There was a very annoying and cheap appearing editing technique used in the film. There is a sweep change used during the sex scenes only where a red or blue bar goes across the screen changing the picture. Luckily this was not used for every edit in the film as it was annoying enough with the limited use that it had. This editing technique reduces most of the heat generated in the scenes as it quickly reminds you that you are watching a film.

The Money Shot:
Fluff ends up being slightly below average fare from Vivid. Viewers who like a porno with a plot and tamer sex have the greatest chance of enjoying this film whereas viewers who hate a plot or require nastier sex will find nothing of value here. For viewers interested in this film, I recommend a rental first.
