The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Guy Capo has had a nice style. I’m not a big fan of teen movies, but his style gives me hope for this one.

Initial Reaction: It’s fun and made me darn glad that I’ve been following most of what Capo’s released lately.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting something light and fun with a little anal

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is done pretty well. It isn’t always perfect, but that seems to be how reality shows like the one First Date is spoofing work. That said, some of the limo sequences have a few audio problems above and beyond that which interfere with things a bit more. The video is also very nicely done. It’s nicely lit and barely shows a hint of grain.

Music: The music has a nice fuck beat and rests very well in the background.

Menus: The main menu is nicely done. It combines a little animation, a clip from the movie, and a still to give a nice first impression. The chapter menu, however, is very generic and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

You know you’ve wanted to do it. Everybody who watches one of the dating shows wants to watch the people blow off the date and fuck. Guy Capo wanted to do it so badly that he made an entire movie about it. He keeps a little of the format of the dating show, but doesn’t ever let it get in the way of the sex that everybody’s wanting to see.

Scene 1 - Brodi and Sergio

After Sergio and his cute brunette date Brodi blow off the activities the dating show had set up for them and head back to Sergio’s room to get to know each other, they both find out how bad they suck at small talk. There’s some nice chemistry between Trinity and D., but something about the scene didn’t work as well as in the others. Maybe it was the cheap motel room location and maybe it was something about Trinity. I just don’t know, but I do know that the scene didn’t work quite as well for me.

Scene 6 - Sativa Rose and Kris Slater

Kris and Sativa quickly move past the small talk about the malls they work at to get on with a little kissing. Kris eagerly goes after Sativa’s titties before letting her suck his cock. First Date is a fun little porno. It keeps things light and fun, and worked quite well for me because satirized late night dating shows seems like a natural fit for porn. Guy does a nice job mixing up locations and captures the action inside the limo extremely well with how often it happened going down the road. Yes, the technical aspects are a little weak at times in the limo, but I think that’s a bit to be expected as the amount of problems seems to vary with the speed they look to be moving. For me, the variation in audio quality was more than made up for by the cars going by and the public sex aspect of many of the scenes. I think Jessica and Trista turned in the hottest scenes for me, but none of the girls were too far behind them. First Date is another winner from Guy Capo, and definitely has me wanting to see more from him!

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Deep in Cream 6 and Let Me Taste It 4. The photo gallery contains about thirty very nice looking snapshots. There’s also internet access, popshot recaps, solo scenes, and a behind the scenes featurette.

Solo scenes are included for each of the girls, and last between just over a minute and nearly two minutes. The girls give a little tease and normally diddle themselves naturally while Guy and his camera give things a slightly different and artistic look (in the good way). The segments aren’t exactly whacking material, but they do make for a much nicer overall DVD. My only complaint about these segments is that the menu is generic and lets you choose them by number rather than by the name of the girl.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about two minutes. It isn’t so much of behind the scenes as it is outtakes from the movie. You get a little of the sex, a bit of screwing around on the set, and a few things that went wrong. It’s a fun little featurette, and my only complaint is that it’s way too short.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many DVSX titles can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with many stores offering them for around $20. This one’s well worth the money. The sex is hot and passionate, and the movie is nicely enjoyable. The technical aspects are a little weak compared to what I normally expect from DVSX, but they still put some nice effort into the extras. This is a nicely done DVD.

Note to DVSX: Please watch some of your cover advertisements a little better. As is, it looks like you’re advertising your movie to have six scenes lasting at least two hours. A “Nearly” in front of the two hour claim would have been very nice here.
