DVD transfer quality appears to be decent, unfortunately, I have not seen other Blue One releases on DVD, so I can't compare. There are occasinal dust scratches now and then, but generally, the picture is clear.

Synopsis

Pierre is having disturbing sexual fantasies featuring his female neighbor (Brigitte Lahaie) and decides to consult the psychiatrist (uncredited female). Meanwhile, Pierre's wife (Ursula White) senses something is not right with her husband and also seeks moral (and not so moral) support from her girlfriend.
Finally, the psychiatrist confronts Brigitte with her client's "problem" and Brigitte is only eager to help. The events take place in France in the late 70s.

Scenes description

Most of the sex occurs inside main character's head, so to speak, as a part of his fantasy or day-dream.

Scene 1:

Part I. Brigitte lets Pierre into her apartment and has sex with him. No foreplay, only doggy style, very brief. He cums inside her or at least this what we are supposed to believe, because there is no visual confirmation. Immediately afterwards, the doorbell rings and Brigittes goes to answer it.
Part II. Some guy rushes into the apartment with the intention to rape Brigitte. The rest of scene involves running around all over place, some tame struggle and brief moments of forced sex. Nothing too violent though. In the end the rapist gets killed.

Thoughts: The raincoater factor here is minus 50 at least, unless rape is your "thing". Although the action isn't even remotely hot, the scene (part II) doesn't fall out of the context and sets the story in motion.

Scene 2:

The wife visits her girlfriend. They take a bath together and play a bit with each other. Nothing too spectacular; some gentle fingering (including very mild anal) and tender pussy licking.

Thoughts: This is a very short g/g scene. It's erotically photographed but action is somewhat lacking.

Scene 3:

Pierre and Brigitte are kissing in the hall and the scene cuts immediately to them having sex in missionary position, on the couch. After just a few moments, Pierre pulls out and cums on her pubes.

Thoughts: I would hardly call that a "scene", more like a snapshot of the main character's imagination. It's extremely short, but this is the only sex sequence in the movie where you'll see a real cumshot. In fact, you will technically see two cumshots, from two different angles and where one of them is fake (fake cum used).

Scene 4:

Again after some kissing and brief pussy licking, Pierre and Brigitte proceed to the bedroom where his wife sleeps. She wakes up and the scene develops into a threesome. Pierre fucks his wife doggy style and supposedly finishes with internal pop shot (not shown).

Thoughts: Overall, this is an okay scene but again, it's quite short.

Scene 5:

Action starts with "our hero" undressing Brigitte on the bed and gently kissing and fingering her. He then notices a maid in the doorway and signals her to take part in the action. After giving Brigitte some head, Pierre fucks her in missionary position, and after some time, they change to doggy. Another woman enters the room (the shrink) and takes a sit on the couch to watch the action and, naturally, masturbate. Finally, Pierre supposedly cums inside Brigitte. No cumshot is shown.

Thoughts: I have mixed feelings about this scene. The maid isn't doing anything in the sexual sense, other than being naked, and frankly, I am not sure if that a good or bad thing. She is not exactly good looking in my book. The sex seems somewhat boring here.

Scene 6:

This time no foreplay whatsoever -- Pierre goes straight for Brigitte's ass. After some humping, they get interrupted by the knocking on the door. Guess who? The psychiatrist chick. She takes off her clothes to reveal a rather big strap-on. As Pierre continues with anal, the shrink lady slides underneath Brigitte and aims for her pussy. After some DP, the scene ends. Not entirely though. After a short intermezzo, which brings the second guy into the picture -- Pierre's buddy from work (a.k.a. imaginary rapist from Scene 1) -- the sex fantasy resumes with Brigitte being fucked by that guy on the bed (missionary). The shrink is giving Pierre a blowjob. Seconds later, the maid joins the group and assists with Pierre's blowjob, but gets bored very quickly. Meanwhile, the couple on the bed changes to doggy. The maid decides to have what Brigitte is having and proceeds to receive some doggy pounding from the "guy". Again, no cumshots here.

Thoughts: This is probably the longest scene in the movie which also makes it one of the best. The only complaint is that yet again, the climax is missing. The simulated, male orgasms are not very convincing and I was desperately hoping to see a pop shot here, but no such luck. Shame.

Scene 7:

Pierre and his wife are having sex for the first time. Cowgirl first and after a brief pause, missionary.

Thoughts: This is by far my favorite scene in the movie. It's very erotic and cinematography resembles something you would normally see in a mainstream production. How often do you get to see a shot from under the bed sheets? However, the sex depiction may be considered somewhat soft and only contains a few explicit shots, but that doesn't ruin the scene, in my humble opinion.

Scene 8:

This is once again some weird fantasy sequence which is mixed up with reality and doesn't make sense at all but I guess that's the point. The action is very segmented and takes place in different settings. Initially, Brigitte rides Pierre cowgirl. Then Pierre doggy fucks his wife and we can see a fake cumshot ("cum" being sprayed on her face but no dick is shown). Then Pierre's buddy doggy fucks the wife while she gives Pierre a BJ. The maid also gets a piece of the action: she sucks one guy, jerks off two other guys, and the 4th dude takes her from behind. The scene ends abruptly and there are no real pop shots shown.

Thoughts: The scene fits the plot but as far as sex goes, it's totally uninteresting. The individual sex acts are too short, and there is no heat whatsoever.

Scene 9:

Brigitte, the wife and Pierre are having a nice threesome. The lucky wife gets a DP session with Brigitte underneath, wearing an impressive strap-on. Pierre does the anal work.

Thoughts: I guess this is appropriate end for the movie, but as in 90% of the scenes, it's damn short.

Review

I have seen several movies by Claude Bernard-Aubert, and Fievres Nocturnes isn't among the best of them, however, it's probably not among the worst either. The problem with this type of plot-driven features is the obvious one: it's overloaded with complex and obscure story which leaves not enough room for good sex. Theoretically, I can live with that if at least the plot was interesting to follow, but this is not the case, in my opinion.
The photography is generally erotic, but sex itself lacks emotion and chemistry between the characters, either intentionally because of the story, or simply because of bad acting. That is something I still haven't figured out. I believe some people may consider Fievres to be rather on the soft side. Although acts such as DPs and anal aren't soft, a lot of the action is depicted without showing too much explicit 'stuff', as if this movie was shot with the softcore release in mind. At moments, I even got the impression that actors are simulating it.
Unfortunately, gorgeous Brigitte Lahaie doesn't deliver the goods in this feature. She basically plays the imaginary sex doll who just bends over or spreads legs, and that's it. She's capable of so much more, so it's a waste of her talents. There is basically only one, rather unattractive guy who has sex throughout the whole movie, and, usually, you cannot see a single expression of emotion on his face. He's having sex with the woman of his fantasy and his face looks as if he's watching grass grow. Ursula White, who plays the wife, is the only one who appears to be "into" her role.
Production values also leave a lot to be desired. The events generally take place in rather boring and colorless settings such as hotel rooms, small apartments.

I can only recommend this film to dedicated Brigitte Lahaie fans. Those of you who can't live without blowjobs and money shots in their porn, should avoid this.
