| Michael Ninn has a
whole line of these "Fem" movies. "L'amour" is my first foray into the
series, burning its extravagant images into my mind and impressing me
every step of the way.
First off, "L'amour" is quite the
showcase for Heather Vuur, who is a contract starlet to Ninn Worx
(according to Angie Savage in the behind-the-scenes.) I've never
seen nor heard of this girl prior to this but wow, is she
breathtaking. The brunette bombshell has some of the best implants out
there-- like Terri Summers, the way they match on the body is just
superb. Her sexual style is not of the overblown, "pornified"
variety either, and I like that. She's just real. A remarkable
girl and Ninn captures her perfectly with his precise and glamorous
camerawork.
Another plus is that Ninn seems to
have toned down his MTV edit-work here. Yeah, the fancy camera
tricks are still there in the scene-intros (can Ninn resist?) but it's
all used in moderation this time around, and I found the balance
between these film-school "tricks" and the "goods" very well done.
Another thing I really liked is the
music, which isn't the normal canned techno music that makes its way
into so much porn these days. This music is- I don't know how to
exactly describe it- "New Age" maybe? Anyway, there are actual vocals
in some of these tracks and the overall mood the music creates is just
so fitting to movie's themes.
Sexwise, most of it is very vanilla,
yet in girl/girl scenes I'd take this any day over the slap happy one-upmanship
type, "sex battles" in a lot of the lez gonzos; which is just
laughable in my opinion. Maybe some may find this movie too
plain but I definitely appreciate this softer, more sensual aspect.
Each scene starts by showing the girls one-by-one in a solo
masturbation sequence- where we get optimal views to just admire the
girls head to toe- then the ladies are upon each other with their
glistening tongues and fingers and dildos. I really love this
formula. You really get to experience the girls fully this way.
