Felicia Exposed Review

On display in the New Machine compilation “Felicia Exposed” is a six-scene selection of Felicia’s work with 4-Play and Evil Angel directors Ed Powers and Randy West. So right away you know what you’re in for: six straight cheesy motel/bedroom sets, low-budget production values, a bunch of third-tier lookers, one-camera shoots, and a lot of cross talk with the director/cameraman. Of course, after a list like that, I’m supposed to say, And lots of great sex!—to punch it up with a little twist, you know. But I’m not going to do that; not because it’s expected, but because it isn’t true.

Ed and Randy make films on the cheap and sometimes they work. A film like this gives you an idea why. In addition to the revolving door that constantly brings in new girls, there are those little “interviews” that begin each scene and which give the viewer a slight sense of who he’s looking at. The formula succeeds because, in a porno sense, these young girls aren’t generally very experienced and don’t have a lot to say: one scene is about all we need. Here we get Felicia times six and all the interviews have been cut out: it’s monotonous.

And I like Felicia. I like her because she likes having sex with girls and, more importantly, because it shows in her performances. But if that’s all I’m going to see—sex straight performances—then give me a few changes of scenery, shut the director up, and show me some partners with a little more experience in front of the camera.

Individually the scenes aren’t bad, which leads me to believe that each of them probably plays better in its original context. Ed Powers’ work is represented by scenes from “Dirty Dirty Debutantes 8” and “More Dirty Debutantes 65.” The first is a threesome with Felicia, Linda Thoren, and Bridgette Belle, and I like the way the girls keep eating pussy even after their partner has cum. The second features Monti in her first scene with a girl. It wasn’t her last: despite her wooden expression, she starts cumming the moment Felicia starts eating and, as Felicia points out to the camera, she certainly creams. (Regrettably, Felicia doesn’t lap it up.)

The Randy West scenes are taken from the “Up and Cummers” series, numbers 16 and 39, “Crazy About Latinas 3,” and “I Love Lesbians Too.” Both the “Up and Cummers” scenes end unnaturally, the second because Shane Tyler signed on to do a guy after Felicia; the first one just fades out during a strap-on sequence. These are the weakest scenes in the film. The “Latinas” scene is a little better, and even if Melina isn’t as into girls as Felicia, at least she makes Felicia cum. Felicia is one of the great orgasmics in porn. Raveness pairs with Felicia in the scene from “I Love Lesbians,” a scene that gets off to a shaky start (seeing as how food is involved), but settles down later and ends with a long, hard orgasm from Raveness.

This film has its moments, I’ll give it that. But the sex suffers by comparison with Felicia’s best work. Felicia isn’t Cherry Rain, after all; she does her best work with professionals. She doesn’t really know how to handle the newcomers, other than as just another lesbian lay. And, again, it doesn’t help that we don’t get to know the new girls before the sex begins.

Bottom line: “Felicia Exposed” has all the sex and none of the personality of the films from which its scenes are drawn.
