Fan, The (Sin City) Review

I was not a big fan of “The Fan.” Although the Sin City feature offers some very attractive performers, the sex is lukewarm at best. Bud Lee directs with little attention paid to the viewer at home wanting some jerkoff material.

Anna Belle plays a porn star in this movie-within-a-movie plot. She is breathtakingly beautiful with a near-flawless body. Her blond hair is curled and her slit is shaven almost bald. She takes on Steve French in the first scene. While not a great cocksucker yet, Anna is worth watching just to see her fantastic, unmarked body in action. Steve ends the romp with a belly cumshot.

There is a hint of a plot at this point, as Anna receives flowers and love notes from an anonymous source. She’s worried that a secret admirer may actually be a fanatic. Forget the plot; it’s standard porn dialogue accompanied by poor acting.

Two semi-attractive brunettes, Elexis and Rocket, are on the set next, and they do a go-through-the-motions lez romp with no toys. There’s more tit sucking than pussy licking. Yawn!

Cute blonde Teoni gives Chris Cannon a decent blowjob to start the next scene. In fact, it’s so good, he cums in a couple minutes. The director had something else in mind, however, and must find a stunt dick for the fucking. He pulls in John West, who has a passionless tryst with Teoni that includes the film’s only anal and facial.

Anna Belle is back, this time with West. It’s a rather strange scene in that he goes down on her for a few minutes, then she returns the favor. But he pops on her tits in just a few minutes with no screwing.

Semi-cute blonde Michelle Michaels takes on Steve Hatcher in the final scene. Again, there is very little passion here. Hatcher is one of my least-favorite porn dudes, mainly because of the crap he does here. He overdoes the “ram-it-in, pull-it-out-quick, ram-it-back-in” style of fucking. This self-indulgent schtick is laborious to the point where one can understand Michelle’s indifference. He mercifully ends this charade of sex with a belly popshot.

The plot, if you care, is wrapped up in the final five minutes and you will be neither surprised by, or care, who is the actual “Fan.”

This is a waste of some beautiful talent. Anna, Michelle, and Teoni are terrific eye candy. But they are hopeless as actresses and give only mildly steamy performances during the sex.

Bud Lee has done some good stuff recently, but his hackneyed camera style is getting old. I hate when the camera leaves the action to pan slowly up a wall, or pans down from a ceiling fan to rejoin the bopping. Those ten seconds of watching wallpaper can completely ruin the mood for me. Bud, this is porn, and no matter how fancy your camera work is, you ain’t gonna win no Oscar! Remember who’s watching. It ain’t the Academy voters!

There are plenty of extras on this DVD, including a Photo Gallery, some Behind the Scenes, Trailers, Website, Biographies, Director’s Commentary, Pop Shots, Company Profile, and Sex Talk. The only condom use in the flick was in the final scene.
