Audio /Video Quality: The video is very good. It’s nicely balanced and clear, but there was a moment or two I thought I might have heard a soft background noise. The video is also very good. There’s just a hint of grain to give it a soft feeling, but it feels just fine for the feature. The lighting varies slightly throughout the feature, but there are very few shadows to interfere with things.

Music: The music has a soft and light feeling that works very good for the feature. It isn’t continuous throughout the feature, but normally works very well although it can be a little loud at times.

Disc Complaints: There’s no time stamp anywhere on the DVD. This always annoys me because it’s my understanding that it takes next to nothing for cost or effort to include one, and because of this it always makes the DVD feel a bit cheaper to me. I like skipping around in the movie sometimes when watching the movie later, and without a decent timestamp I can’t do that.

Menus: The menus are extremely basic. The main menu is unanimated and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a still of each scene and a title for the scene.

The Feature: When walking down the street, Japanese exchange student Fujiko Kano finds an a sign advertising a babysitting job for a college student. She calls the number and Michelle Lay gives her directions to her house and leads her through a flirtatious interview, most of which seems to go over Fujiko’s head. Fujiko catches on quickly, however, once the clothes start coming off.

Michelle makes her big move by stripping down as Fujiko gives her a massage. After a little bit of Fujiko’s rub down, Michelle tells her that she wants to give Fujiko a massage too. She slides Fujiko out of her clothes and kisses her softly before they explore each other further. They get down to their panties and continue to explore each other gently, with Michelle leading the way much of the time. Michelle takes Fujiko into the bedroom and slides her panties off so that she can easily eat her pussy. They work each other over naturally before Michelle breaks out a set of step-up anal beads and slides them into Fujiko’s pussy. Finally, they finish things up with a bit more kissing and tender finger sucking before the phone rings with another appointment for Michelle.

This is an extremely hot scene! It builds up nicely and even tones itself done very well at the end for a very realistic feeling scene. Michelle and Fujiko seem to be having a lot of fun with each other, and make this scene very easy to watch. The camera work had a few minor problems, such as a leg in the way now and then or moving in just a little too close, but other than that was very nice.

After Fujiko leaves, Michelle works herself over. She starts out with her fingers in a chair before breaking out a small white vibe. She even fingers her ass a little after getting worked up and has a fairly believable orgasm to finish things.

This is a nice masturbation scene. Michelle gets into it very well, and once again seems to know how to build things up a little rather than just getting right to it. Once again, the ending is just as nice, and tapers down slowly rather than just ending quickly.

The Exchange Student is a surprisingly nice all girl feature. There isn’t much of a story, but what there is works very well in building up anticipation for the actual sex. It’s fun and decently done, and never feels like it’s trying to be anything beyond that. The sex is just as good. It has a natural feel to it that few other lesbian movies seem to find, and moves things along at a real pace. Yes, the camera work seemed just slightly off a few times, but it was never so bad that it started to lose me. The biggest problem with The Exchange Student is that at roughly ten minutes under an hour, it feels like there should be much more here. That said, what there is here satisfied me much more than some movies twice its length, so I’m not complaining about it that much. The Exchange Student is a short but very nicely done all girl feature that feels much more realistic than most features out there.

Extras: A photo gallery lasting roughly a minute with six seconds per nice looking full screen photo and a bio is included for both Michelle Lay and Fujiko Kano. There’s also website information and two featurettes.

The behind the scenes featurette is for a photo shoot with Michelle Lay, Fujiko Kano, and Nicole Sheridan rather than being from this movie, and lasts just over a minute and a half. The action is a threesome between the girls, with a little toy action. The camera focuses on Michelle and Fujiko, but you get a little of Nicole as well. It flips by very quickly, and although it’s nice to look at, feels extremely hollow.

The second featurette is called Fujiko Boob Job, and also lasts a couple minutes. Fujiko talks about how she had her boob job five days ago and that nothing’s healed yet. She removes her bra to show her tits with all the stitches and everything else that you really don’t want to see if you’ve had anything to eat within a couple hours. It’s a great couple minutes for anybody who wants to curb their appetite and should hopefully turn a few people off from massacring their body like this.

Overall: Currently, The Exchange Student can be found online for between $13 and $25 with a couple stores offering it near the low end. I’d strongly recommend this one at the low end, although I did have to wait for over two months for it to come in at the low price when it was supposed to ship within a few days, so you might want to pay an extra buck or two if this really sounds like your thing. The sex is very nice and the technical aspects were also pretty good. There’s a couple short featurettes for extras that didn’t do much for me, but fans of Fujiko and Michelle might be very happy with them.

Note to Club Reno: You have a very nice start here, but a little polish could go quite a ways. Animated menus do a very good job of setting a great first impression, and I don’t know a single person who isn’t a bit irritated at the lack of a time stamp. Even with these minor things, for one of what appears to be your first DVDs this is a very nice start!
