The Short Story

Initial Expectations: I really enjoyed Kelli at Home, as well as most everything else I’ve seen from Shot at Home, so I’m going into this one with high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s another very nice release from Shot at Home.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting an all girl movie focusing on one woman and who isn’t bothered by her actually having a personality

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting only sex or a lot of toys

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: Shot at Home’s movies are homemade videos, and I hesitate to compare them on the same scale as studio porn. Homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely have close to the same quality. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn. Since homemade features have such a great charm and the lower quality technical aspects contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review.

The technical aspects here are okay. The audio is decent, as you can hear Emma very clearly, and there isn’t much for background noises except for the hum of the camera. There are a few small portions where the audio is a bit out of balance, but they’re very few and very short. The bigger problem is that video. It’s lit pretty good, but it’s quite grainy, almost like it might have been shot on film. It also has a kind of funky aspect ratio, almost like it was originally shot with a 1.66 ration and then stretched to fit the standard 1.33 ratio of most televisions.

Music: None

Menus: The menus are simple, but work. The main menu keeps a standard form, but it fits the homemade aspect of the movies extremely well. The chapter menus are just as simple and let you choose a scene based on a still from each chapter.

The Feature

The Shot at Home Alone line from Shot at Home concentrates on, yep, women home alone. They start out with a very nice interview with the featured lady, and then let them entertain you by themselves. They normally take you on a tour of their home, always making sure to include their underwear drawer, and put on a show as they make their way around. This time, the featured lovely lady is Emma, a slightly older (but still very cute and nice looking) dirty blonde lawyer from Dallas, Texas with a pierced nipple and navel, a shaved pussy, and a small tattoo on her back.

Scene 1 - Emma

Emma starts things out with a tour of her bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet. She makes the way back to the bedroom for the underwear drawer, and immediately pulls out a camouflaged thong! She works her way through several pairs of panties which she models, as well as showing off one of her hanging around the house outfits. Eventually she makes her way back to the closet and puts on a skirt and shirt. She switches clothes a little, including trying to find the right pair of shoes, and plays with herself throughout the process. She even gives her nipples some nice attention, and talks about how she likes to have them played with before putting on some comfy clothes and heading to the kitchen.

I’ll fully admit that Emma got me going right away! Being a foot freak I loved seeing how many shoes she had, and the camouflaged thong got the attention of my inner redneck right away. Most importantly, Emma kept a playful attitude throughout the entire sequence, and talked to the camera nicely the entire time. This is a great way to start things out, and had a smile on my face almost the entire time.

Scene 2 - Emma

Emma starts things out in the kitchen heading for the freezer to grab an ice cube for her already perky nipples. She lays back in a kitchen chair and loses her comfy pants so that she can rub her nub. She licks her fingers clean repeatedly as she diddles her bald beaver, and plays to the camera nicely while bringing herself to a decent looking orgasm.

This is another nicely done sequence. There are a few times when I doubt Emma’s authenticity, but she’s still fun to watch. She talks about doing a few professional films at the start of the feature, and you can tell here. She looks like she’s starting to try to give the camera what she thinks it wants, but at the same time frequently falls back into a very natural feeling. This is another nicely done scene.

Scene 3 - Emma

Emma heads to the shower in the morning to start getting ready for her porn shoot that day. She lets you watch her wash up before she gets out and puts on her makeup. She models the black and white bra and panty sets she’s considering wearing before settling on the black set from her underwear drawer tour and the black outfit she modeled from her closet. She’s in a rush to beat rush hour, but decides to stick around and diddle herself again. She takes off her shirt and breaks her tit out of the bra so that she can play with her piercing before deciding that she probably better leave her panties behind. After a few minutes of play she heads out the door so that she’s not too late.

This is a very nice sequence. I can see some people thinking the getting ready goes on a bit too long, but personally I liked it because it seems so personal. Emma looks like she’s having a lot of fun with it, and makes it a nice sequence. Once again she seems to push things a bit too far in places, but there’s still enough of a playful look in her eye to make it work.

Scene 4 - Emma

After the shoot, Emma starts out in the white bra and panties, which she quickly strips off so that she can go after her smooth slit with a G-spot vibe. She kicks things up a notch by taking herself to a technical double penetration with the help of a black buttplug. She works her pussy over with several other toys until she’s satisfied herself, and then gives a nice goodbye.

This is a nice closing scene, and I think Emma feels the most natural here. The toys do a great job of setting this scene apart from all the others, and it’s great to see Emma adding some nice variety with the different toys and the anal play. This scene is going to be what most people want to see, and after everything that leads up to it, it doesn’t disappoint at all.

Emma at Home Vol. 1 is a very nice addition to the Shot at Home Alone line. Although extremely sexual, it doesn’t always concern itself with sex, and instead works around the natural sexiness of Emma. Emma does a great job of playing around with the camera throughout the feature so that you feel like you’re getting a very nice look at her as a sexual person, and the flow of the movie keeps things moving so that nothing really takes the focus so much that you get bored with it. The only complaint I can have about Emma is that she seemed like she was faking it a little in a few places. The clothes changing got close for me a couple times, but even that’s very enjoyable with how Emma does it. The homemade feel also comes across very nicely throughout the feature, which also helped to give it a very natural feel. Yes, that means there’s some negative things like camera shake, soft focus blurs, and heads getting cut off occasionally, but unlike with studio porn, that sort of thing actually adds a bit of charm and a feeling of authenticity here. Emma at Home Vol. 1 is a nicely done feature, and one that definitely has me looking forward to more from Emma.

The Extra Stuff

To start with, there’s six previews which last over a half hour. Each preview is nicely identified and has its own chapter to make it very easy to skim and to know what movie to check out if you enjoy the preview.

There’s also an “Extra O” feature, which features a quick orgasm from Emma. She fingers herself to a nice orgasm on top of the pool table in a clip that lasts almost a minute and a half. You don’t get to see Emma’s face, and it looks like the camera was just left on the pool table to capture most of her. It’s a nice little clip, and a different and cool extra.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most Shot at Home DVDs can be found online for about $20. This is a feature that’s probably going to either leave you hot or cold, but it definitely left me hot. It has great personality, although the technical aspects are slightly below average even for homemade features. There’s also some nice extras.
