The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: Shot at Home’s movies are homemade videos, and I hesitate to compare them on the same scale as studio porn. Homemade movies don’t have the budget nor the resources of studio porn, and therefore rarely have close to the same quality. I’m rating this DVD on the same scale, but most homemade features would rarely make it above a 3 on the standard scale I use for studio porn. Since homemade features have such a great charm and the lower quality technical aspects contribute to that charm, I hope people will keep that in mind when checking out this review.

The technical aspects here are okay. The audio is decent, as you can hear Emma very clearly, and there isn’t much for background noises except for the hum of the camera. There are a few small portions where the audio is a bit out of balance, but they’re very few and very short. The bigger problem is that video. It’s lit pretty good, but a fair amount is quite grainy, almost like it might have been shot on film. It also has a kind of funky aspect ratio, almost like it was originally shot with a 1.66 ration and then stretched to fit the standard 1.33 ratio of most televisions. Finally, a fair mount of the feature is shot from a tripod, and the camera looks to be a little close as heads are frequently chopped off.

Menus: The menus are simple, but work. The main menu keeps a standard form, but it fits the homemade aspect of the movies extremely well. The chapter menus are just as simple and let you choose a scene based on a still from each chapter.

The Feature

After coming home from one of her pro shoots, Emma cracks open a Bud light, fires up a smoke, and gives a tour of her home on the gold course. Emma’s a cute dirty blonde Texan with a bald beaver, a small tattoo on her back, and a pierced nipple and navel. Scene 1 - Emma

After changing into a bikini, which she rules too conservative, Emma changes into a thong that she thinks might make the golfers shank their balls, and finally into a nicely in between bikini bottom. As she lays out she comments on how horny she still is after the shoot earlier, and decides to make the best of it. This is a nice tease to start things out. There’s nothing overly sexual about it, and the hardest thing in it is Emma playing with her pierced nipple and rubbing her pussy through her bikini. She plays to the camera well, and is obviously enjoying herself, making this a good little tease.

Scene 2 - Emma and Brad

After talking about how they’re both horny, Emma and Brad head inside. She quickly goes to work sucking his cock, and gives it plenty of stroking and a little titty fucking as well. Brad returns the favor by tonguing her bald pussy as they talk about how she got fucked on the set earlier and the possibility of her having a bit of cum still inside her before moving down to lick her ass. This is a pretty good scene. Emma and Brad have nice chemistry together, and look like they’re having a lot of fun. The banter between them really helps out the scene, and gives it an enjoyable and realistic feel. This is nothing new for Shot at Home’s features, and a big reason why I’ve become such a fan of their features. Sometimes the reality doesn’t quite work for the sexuality of the scene, as when Brad appeared to have some problems popping, but even that has its charm in its reality. This scene isn’t anything to set the world afire with, but is nice, enjoyable, and makes me look forward to more from Emma.

Emma and Brad Vol. 2 is a nicely done homemade video. Emma and Brad both have a great attitude, and they keep things moving nicely and through plenty of positions. They also very the style of the camera work pretty well by mixing together hand held shots during the oral portions and tripod shots during the fucking. Yes, the tripod shots have the drawback of not always focusing in on them well, chopping off heads, and not showing what you want to see if Emma and Brad are oriented wrong, but they work a heck of a lot better than it would if they tried going with hand held shots there. Thankfully, that’s the biggest problem with the feature. Although Emma and Brad look to be really into each other and having a lot of fun, the camera doesn’t always catch it the best. This is fairly standard for homemade features, although they do seem to be improving with how much video cameras are improving lately. Being somebody who’s fairly picky in what I want to see from camera shots, this often annoys me with homemade features, but the chemistry and obvious enjoyment more than make up for it. Emma and Brad Vol. 2 is no different, and ends up a worthwhile and fun homemade movie.

Six previews are included which last over a half hour total. Each preview is nicely identified and has its own chapter to make it very easy to skim and to know what movie to check out if you enjoy the preview.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, most Shot at Home DVDs can be found for about $20. This is a pretty average homemade feature and a nicely done DVD. The technical aspects are pretty good for a homemade feature, and Shot at Home has included a half hour of extra footage, as they normally do so well.

Note to Shot at Home: After seeing the “Extra O” feature on your last couple DVDs, I was disappointed to not see it here. I hope you bring it back on your other releases and keep showing the great care you have been towards your DVDs.
