Emerald Rain is a couple's feature that's similar to other Adam & Eve grand productions, such as Sex Island or Caribbean Undercover.  From the title, you're probably not surprised that it was shot on location in South America and uses the surroundings to give the movie a definite "travelogue" feel.  If not for the hardcore elements, you might think you were watching the Discovery Channel or a travel video.  There are tons of waterfall, jungle, river, and beach shots, some taken from a helicopter, that show the lushness of the Venezuelan wilderness.  Most of the interludes between sex scenes are reduced speed shots of the passing landscape and of the actors making their way through the camera frame.

The story carries an environmental message that protests the destruction of the tropical rainforests though a variation on the mainstream film Medicine Man with Sean Connery.  By way of an introductory slide, we discover that Tyler McCabe (Evan Stone) has rejected his former industrialist ways to seek the Eden spring in the South American rainforest, which is supposed to have the power to rejuvenate the world's water supply.  On his trail is Eden James (Ava Vincent) and her fiancé William Benson (Dale Dabone); Eden is Tyler's ex-girlfriend from college and William is a successful industrialist who embodies everything that Tyler abandoned.  Finally, Shady O'Gray is the villain of the film, determined to steal the secret of the Eden spring.  The majority of the movie shows Tyler going about his daily life (testing water supplies, boffing native women, and marrying a natural girl who happens to have fake tits (Briana Banks), while Eden, William, and Shady try to find him.

I would consider this a pretty good couple's movie since it is much more beautiful and unhurried than most porn today.  Adam & Eve's bread and butter is the couple's feature, and they spent a lot of money to make this one.  A lot of the sex is unhurried and shot in a way to slow down the action.  While it's pretty couple's friendly (no lesbian, few facials, and no circus acts), it does have some anal and the sex is explicit.

I particularly enjoyed a few of the scenes quite a bit.  First, Eurobabe Rita Faltoyano hooks up with John Decker in the opening scene.  Dressed in awesome spiderweb tights, she looks divine, especially as she's being eaten out in mid-air, riding John, or taking his cock in her ass.  Next, the scene between Evan and the native girl Isabella in the pool under a waterfall is both gorgeous and erotic.  But the best looking scene in Emerald Rain is the beach love scene between Ava Vincent and Dale Dabone.  I love how it starts out with them frolicking in the water and ends with them making love on the beach.  I think that a lot of couples would appreciate and enjoy the scene as much as I did.  And, of course, I can't resist a girl in a wet T-shirt!

This is one of the best couple's oriented features I've seen in a while, and I'd definitely recommend it to those who don't mind a relaxed adult movie that relies heavily on lush scenery and an environmental plot.  I think it's similar in quality and feel as Search for the Snow Leopard and a lot better than the much-lauded Island Fever.  It's not perfect:  plot and character development are about nil, the dialogue is cheesy, and the condoms are distracting.  It's definitely going to be too slow and vanilla for a lot of people, but if you appreciate porn as art, or if you're just looking for a quality X-rated flick to introduce your lover to porn, Emerald Rain is a good selection.
