Plot Synopsis: There is no plot since this is a virtual sex DVD. Basically you get to choose between two girls, either Sky or Inari, then you pick the scenario they are in, and finally the sex act or position they engage in. The scenarios are: Inari: "Luv Boat" (washing a boat in the driveway--solo), "Sexy Scrubbin'" (cleaning the bathroom shower--solo), and "Hot & Nasty" (the boy-girl sex). Sky: "Born to Be Wild" (washing a motorcycle--solo), "Pool Side Rendezvous" (playing by the pool--solo), and "Behind Closed Doors" (the boy-girl sex). There's also a short scene where both Inari and Sky share giving a guy a blowjob.

General Comments: I've said publically before that I don't think I'll buy into the concept of virtual sex videos until the technology reaches the Strange Days type where you can experience sex in the first person. :) Although I still think the virtual sex idea is a gimmick that DVD technology makes possible, Dyanna Presents Vivid's Virtual Vixens is certainly a good effort. It's not the genre for everyone, especially if you need to have a linear video presentation or dislike short sex segments.
Personally, I found the clips to be too short for my tastes, although the footage as a whole was very good. The setups and locations Dyanna used were the stuff of fantasies, like a Playboy video but far more explicit. I only wish there was a little more fantasy involved in the boy-girl scenes since those scenes are pretty much just shot inside on a couch.
Speaking of the boy-girl scenes, I really didn't care for them. This is partially due to the male talent, who were not exactly studs--in more than one sense of the word. The positions were nothing special either with no creative positions or interesting photography. Finally, the biggest irritation of all was the liberal use of picture-in-picture to note the available alternate angles. There's nothing like seeing two small FMV PiP windows superimposed on someone's legs as he's pumping away to kill any mood you might have had. :(

Notable Performances: Both Inari (one of my favs) and Sky (who never looked as good in all of her previous videos) are blazing hot in this DVD. The solo scenes are nothing short of amazing, as they pour water and suds on themselves while talking dirty. Given the ho-hum nature of the hardcore scenes, the solo scenes are where the replay value is.

DVD Notes: The interactive side of the disc appears to be outstanding with its FMV menus and bright, colorful design--at first. But you'll notice two misspellings and a grammatical error in the menus ("Luv Baot," "Saxy Scrubbin'" and "Behind Scenes"), those should have been caught before the DVD was approved for duplication!

Other than that, the disc is superb. The video content, shot specifically for DVD in August 1999, is razor sharp and properly transferred. The behind-the-scenes footage is great, and I was amused to see the "wood" (lack of) and lost condom problems that Inari's partner had during the shoot. The photo gallery is extensive (around 50 photos) and most of them are photo quality with none of those too-dark-probably-vidcapped photos you see in most everyone else's releases (including some of Vivid's own). The bonus clips on side B, while frustratingly short and poorly edited, add some additional value to the package. It really would have been nice (hint, hint) to include the name of the source video and/or performers (a la music video style) before or after each clip. I mean, these clips are advertising teasers, aren't they? So why not complete the tease by telling us which video or DVD we need to buy? :)

Bottom Line: I'm pleasantly surprised at how good Vivid has gotten at putting together virtual sex titles. It's still not even close to what I consider "virtual," but the quality photography and original content are excellent. Considering it's priced the same as most adult DVDs, it's worth a look.
