Dust Unto Dust is an early plotted gay hardcore film from director Tom DeSimone using the pseudonym Lancer Brooks. Dust Unto Dust is a rather simplistic film in nature, with a cast of only three men and a narrator, however, instead of making this work against the film Tom DeSimone makes it work for the film.

The story for Dust Unto Dust is the telling, by a narrator (Tom DeSimone), of an old Native American legend (not a real Native American legend but one made up for the film). In the legend, in the 1800s, a family from the east coast went west looking for gold. Instead of gold, the family ended up with a child. The two died young, leaving the child to grow up on his own in the desert. Two gay Native Americans find the grown child (Olin), Broken Wing (Poco Allen) and his brother with no name due to being a half-breed (Darryl Hughes), who were believed to be cursed and left behind by their tribe due to being gay. The film tells the story of the three.

Dust Unto Dust is simplistic. The narration removed the need for dialog. There are only the three characters in the film (There is one shot of the child's mother from behind that looks like Olin stood in for her.). The whole movie was shot outdoors, and there are a total of three sex scenes in the film.

The simplicity of Dust Unto Dust makes the movie work. The outdoor locations fit the film perfectly. The film is nicely shot, and the sex scenes fit in well with the story that is being told to the viewer. The cast may not have any lines in the movie, but they still have to convey their characters feelings through their body language, which the actors do excellently. Overall, Dust Unto Dust is a fun gay adult film and well worth watching by fans of the genre.

The edition of Dust Unto Dust screened is the streaming-only edition available on NakedSword.com from Bijou Video. Bijou Video has done a nice job with their streaming-only edition of Dust Unto Dust. Dust Unto Dust was shot on film, and it looks like Bijou Video has used a good quality print for their release; however, it is possible that the release was mastered from the camera negative. Dust Unto Dust is presented in the Academy aspect ratio of 1.33:1 pillarboxed to 1.78:1 in 480p. The image quality is good with the expected amount of artifacts and print damage, and there are a few jumps in the film. There are a few instances of the image being overly red or overly blue. Honestly, the video quality looks good.

Dust Unto Dust is presented with an English monaural audio track. There are hiss and distortion in the sound, and there are jumps, pops, and noticeable damage to the audio track. The dialog in the film, which is narration only, is understandable although some words are missing or truncated in places. The sound quality is far worse than the video quality.

Dust Unto Dust is an early hardcore gay feature film from director Tom DeSimone. Dust Unto Dust is a straightforward film with only three cast members that tells a story of a made up Native American legend via a narrator. Even though Dust Unto Dust is so simple, as a whole, the film works well and should entertain viewers. Dust Unto Dust is well worth watching. Bijou Video's release of Dust Unto Dust looks nice with the expected damage for the age of the film.
