Dune Buddies Review

Not only do I enjoy old Hollywood films, I enjoy old porn films as well. What is particularly interesting is that these oldies try to camouflage the fact that they were designed to get the viewers to jack off by investing them with a plot.

In DUNE BUDDIES for example we have a Paul, a teacher, renting a house on FiresIsland for the summer in hopes to get away from men and one of his students in particular who has nearly caused him to violate his rule about having sex with students. However when he arrives at his cabin he finds this very same student wearing only a tee shirt that says “I can’t live on Love alone” asleep on a bed. The student, Dennis, reminds his teacher that they are no longer in class. The student’s exposed penis is the clincher to the argument and Teach soon has it in his mouth sucking away. (Dennis is quite irresistible.)

Their fellatio is interrupted by a phone call from Gordon who tells the teacher that one night at a drunken party he was invited to come to Fire Island. Paul heads off to meet his friend at the dock. Dennis says he will get dinner. (I thought Dennis was dinner.)

Alone, Dennis—still wearing nothing but his shirt—juggles a few balls. (I’m resisting making a comment here.) He then takes an outdoor shower. Dennis has very nice feet. (I’ve got a foot fetish.) Dennis starts pounding his dick. (I didn’t know anyone had to pound their own dick on Fire Island.) Finally the shirt (now wet) comes off. So does Dennis’s dick.

Meanwhile Gordon (another good looking young surfer type) is tired of waiting to be picked up by our teacher and hitches a ride with a cute guy in a power boat. (The young boatman and the teacher both have those seventies’ moustaches.) The ride pauses for Gordon and the boatman to get it on and we have our first fuck scene as Gordon is banged in several positions.

Having missed Gordon Paul is waylaid by a friend who plies him with liquor and dope, a cute young Latino, and a hunky young bear. A four-man orgy is soon underway.

Gordon arrives at the cabin and encounters Dennis.

We return to the orgy for the climax (literally).

Stumbling back to camp Paul sees a light on in a tent where some kind of activity is taking place. The inhabitant is jacking off. (This really begins to disillusion me about Fire Island. Guess I should cash in my ticket.) Paul trips over a rock and sprains his ankle. The masturbator comes to his rescue.

Dennis and Gordon have just finished the dinner Dennis made and Gordon says it’s only a matter of time before he makes Dennis.
Back at the tent, his rescuer having taken care of Paul’s ankle is now taking care of Paul’s cock. Paul shows his appreciation by going down on the tent dweller. He fucks him too. This night scene is so poorly lit (I don’t think it was lit at all) that it’s sort of like watching shadow puppets. (And why do we hear a female in orgiastic frenzy on the soundtrack???)

Meanwhile back at the cabin Gordon is indeed making Dennis. Though at the moment Dennis is swallowing down Gordon’s cock. A ravenous sixty-nine follows. Even though it doesn’t include fucking it is the film’s best sex scene with Dennis showing some real passion. Both boys fire off nice loads.
The next morning however Gordon goes off with the vulgar boatman. Kevin heads into the surf. Paul struggles home.

The film ends with Paul giving Dennis the keys to the house and leaving him there. What a silly ninny as a summer with Larry Paige who played Dennis would be unforgettable!

Of course the film can’t compare with the technical expertise of our top-grade films today. And although it no doubt it was a pud-pounder thirty some years ago, one would have to be very horny to respond that way today. Nevertheless it did put some lead in my pencil and was rather enjoyable. Larry Paige as Dennis and Hugh Allen as Gordon were quite attractive. It is certainly not worth the price of a new DVD so I would suggest renting it if you are interested. That’s what I did.
