The Short Story

Initial Expectations: This series has been hit or miss for me, but with Ernest Greene behind the camera I can’t help but give it another shot.

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty good.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who’s into spanking and flogging

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who wants to see either very dark or very light bondage

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good for the age of the feature. The audio is normally pretty clear, but the balance varies a bit throughout the movie. The video has a little grain, but is normally nicely lit and is even throughout the feature.

Music: The music is soft and rests quietly in the background. It

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu has some okay animation while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

When Mistress Ilsa extends an invitation to Chloe to learn how to be a dominatrix, she doesn’t think she can pass up the opportunity. The action moves after Chloe’s lesson, focusing on the inhabitants all around Dresden.

Scene 1 - Chloe, Deva Station, and Mistress Ilsa Strix

Mistress Ilsa has Deva help with Chloe’s first lesson. Chloe has Deva greet her properly by kissing her way around Chloe’s feet and legs before assisting Deva in full submissive mode. Mistress Ilsa has Chloe put Deva’s feet in stirrups and to attach her to the bondage table. She has Chloe play warm up Deva’s pussy before putting clips on it and playing with them. They also spank Deva and flog her before Mistress Ilsa gives them an hour alone seeing how warmed up they both are.

This is a nicely done opening scene. I really like the teaching aspect of the scene, and think Mistress Ilsa does a great job of laying some of the rules out of flogging. I also like how well Chloe and Deva get into the scene, as it shows that bondage isn’t just a couple people beating each other. This scene gives the movie a nice start.

Scene 2 - Cleo and John Decker

John interrupts Mia Smiles and Cleo as they make the bed in a room. John excuses Mia and then warms his hand up spanking Cleo’s ass. He starts out with her on his knee and then has her bend over the bed as he works on her with a crop and a flogger. He starts with one flogger and then works Cleo over with a pair of them while she plays with her pussy using her fingers and a vibe. Finally the scene fades out.

This is a pretty good scene, and focuses on spanking pretty well. John does a nice job on working his way around Cleo’s body, and she takes it very well. Something seemed to be missing from this scene, however, and I really can’t place what it is.

Scene 3 - Chandler and Ernest Greene

After giving Chandler a little talking to about her misbehaving, Ernest gives her a few slaps and rubs ice all over her body. He whips her briefly before pinning her breasts and giving her a little nipple torture. Master Ernest goes back to whipping her as well as caning her ass while she plays with herself.

This is another nicely done scene. I always enjoy watching Ernest’s scene as I think he brings a lot of care and enjoyment to his scenes. That’s no different here, and I think Chandler makes a great match for him here. She does a very nice job of playing the slave who’s being punished yet enjoys her punishment, while Ernest plays the master who wants his slave to enjoy the punishment just as well. This is a nicely done scene with a nice bit of variety thanks to the nipple torture.

Scene 4 - Mia Smiles and Ryan Moore

After talking briefly, Mia bends over a piano so that Ryan can spank her ass. He starts with his hand before using a paddle. He moves on to flog her from behind as well as the front. Finally, Ryan gives Mia a little nipple torture before rubbing a vibe across her front before the scene fades out.

This is an okay scene. Mia seems to be into it pretty well, but the scene just seems like more of the same from the previous scenes. There’s nothing to set this scene apart from the others other than the performers, and because of it this scene ends the movie on a slightly lower note.

Dresden Diary 23 is an okay bondage feature. As usual there isn’t much of a plot, but plot just isn’t something you go into a bondage feature expecting. In this case it held things back a little as the feature started out looking like it was going to have a bit of a story to tie things together. I hoped the movie would revolve around Chloe learning to be a dom, but when it didn’t I ended up a little disappointed. The action is pretty good, but also goes down a bit as the movie goes on due to feeling a little too similar throughout the movie. Dresden Diary 23 is a decent bondage feature, but don’t expect anything too unique.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. I’d rent this one first unless you’re into the series. It has some decent action but not a lot of variety. The technical aspects are okay but as usual there isn’t much effort put to the extras.

Note to Bizarre Video: It’s nice to see you putting some effort into your technical aspects, especially with the age of this feature. I really wish you would have put as much effort into your extras.
