Double Standard Review

After the somewhat disappointing previous film, director Brian Mills returns with one of his finest. DOUBLE STANDARD is everything we expect from Mills and Titan and then some. The film starts off with a scorcher of a scene and then scenes follow which get hotter and hotter as the film progresses until one is surprised that smoke doesn’t begin to appear from the TV.

The film opens with François Sagat--one of Titan’s favorite performers--working as a maintenance man for another of Titan’s regulars, Rick van Sant. With his somewhat tattooed hair that makes him resemble the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, François may be a bit off-putting for some, but when he strips to reveal a fabulous physique he is irresistible.
Rick is not at home when things begin. There is only François and the handsome Max Schutler, who plays another maintenance man. As François works on the stove in the kitchen he goes to put his coffee cup away in the dishwasher and finds a collection of dildos in one of the washing trays. Intrigued, he removes one of them, strips to reveal that fabulous physique, and shoves the chosen dildo deep between his meaty buns.
Max goes for a piss (which we watch). Returning, he passes by the kitchen and sees his co-worker engaged in a task that was not on the schedule. Whatever vague plot there was now veers off into another equally tenuous link between the lovers Eric Moreau and Dean Flynn. Unless I’m particularly dense it appears that the only one in the film who fits the title is Dean’s character. He certainly has a double standard in refusing to allow his lover to play around while having a different standard for himself. But although the plot is tenuous it is the sex we are after and the film scores five stars on that!
I like it best when Titan mixes their films with ultra masculine types, handsome guys, and young studs as they have done here. It’s something for everyone then. Let’s hope they use all these guys again soon.
DOUBLE STANDARD is a film I’ll definitely watch again and again. I think you will, too.
