Doggie Style (Jet Set) Review

Shane Collins resembles the boy you wished lived next door (or better still, lived with you). He is handsome, even-tempered, and has a big dick. So when he wakes up in bed and wants sex with his lover, the pleasingly plump Derek Cruz and is told to go back to sleep, we find it inconceivable. But we soon understand why. As soon as Shane is of to work where he has an important meeting, Derek also has an important meeting. Derek’s meeting is with sexy Anthony Martinez. As soon as Shane has departed Anthony arrives. Theirs is a very searing encounter with Derek administering a rousing fuck to Anthony.

Meanwhile on his way to work Shane comes across an abandoned and sick dog. Being of a compassionate nature, Shane scoops up the dog and takes him to a cute young blond vet —Travis Carlson.
This detour has made Shane late for his meeting and he arrives to an empty room with a note telling him he is fired. It just hasn’t been his day: first no morning sex and now no job. But they say bad things come in threes and that turns out to be true when Shane arrives back home unexpectedly and finds his lover with another guy. Shane’s character is an absolute stickler for monogamy so the two-timing Derek is given the boot.

Shane does have another bitch and goes to pick it up from the vet. We see sleeping with his faithful furry friend. (Ah, it’s a dog’s life!) One day as they go on a walk Shane’s dog—whom he’s named Boner—encounters another dog owned by the very sexy Brett Matthews. As the dogs sniff butts, Shane and Brett share an immediate attraction as well. Shane is invited to dinner.

At the dinner Brett tells Shane that he is a vegan and serves him a meatless casserole. He explains to Shane that he doesn’t eat meat and Shane gently rebuffs Brett’s advances explaining that he’s looking for a monogamous relationship and not just a one-night stand. He hopes that Brett will turn out to be just that.
Well, that hope is shattered the very next day when Shane finds Brett’s dog tied to a tree and Brett chowing down on the fat cock of Christian Owen. (Obviously there is one kind of meat Brett will eat.) Christian has certainly matured from the somewhat gawky twink of his early films and is now quite a stunning stud. Brett leans over the back of a park bench and Christian fucks him (yep) doggie style. Not only is Shane a witness to this but the fuckers have attracted two others (Taylor Eastwood and Park Wiley) who are turned on and jack off.

Brett finally notices Shane leaving and runs after him. A disillusioned Shave bids him farewell.

Taking his dog back for a final check-up, the cute vet makes his feelings for Shane known and offers him a ring. Shane has finally found someone who will be faithful to him. Their tryst is extremely romantic. It takes place in a bathroom tub with a gas fire burning beside them. (I’ve always thought a fireplace in the bedroom was the ultimate in romance, but one in the bathroom tops it.) It is one of the most romantic scenes you can hope to see. It’s a high point and the film might well have ended here.

But we cut to three months later. What a contrast from Travis’ and Shane’s earlier entrance into Travis home to this one. Evidently there are problems in Eden. Travis turns out to be excessively jealous and possessive. He is upset with Shane for getting attention from others and accuses his lover of flirting with them.
Shane has learned that monogamy and possessiveness can be one and the same.

He gives Travis his ring back and heads off to Brett’s. Their’s is the final sex scene. Unfortunately it doesn’t reach the passion of the fuck with Travis. Guess I’m just an old romantic.
