The Movie

The Resolution is a multi-part epic adult movie, which unfortunately means that you need to pick up more than one volume to get the complete story. This epic series is composed of two films, Dog World and the conclusion The Resolution. Dog World ends with the words “to be continued” and the next volume The Resolution starts off with “previously in Dog World.” For movies such as this I wish companies would release the movie as one volume with a higher price so you can get the full movie or at least clearly note on the box for the release all the volumes necessary for the complete movie. This especially goes for movies like this one where so much work went into making a comprehensive and interesting feature.

In the conclusion to this post-apocalyptic tale, Luna (Salma De Nora) continues telling Jazmin (Lesley Kiss) the story of how she ended up at the prison. She starts out talking about El Peque (Mick Blue), at Club Peque and how he pimps girls out and how she meet Bernard (Enric Galmayo), the blind sculptor, who gives her the keys to his riches.

Roberto Valtueña has done an amazing job with the movie, it has a mainstream feel to it. The feel can be attributed to the work that went into not only the sex scenes, but the non-sex portions of the movie as well. The non-sex footage isn't filler to just get to the next scene but is an integral part of the movie. The script is well done. Some of the dubbing is cheesy. And the movie is beautifully shot!

The sets are excellent creating a gritty dismal look for the post apocalyptic future. One problem that the movie has, which the first one had as well, is that for the less than consensual sex scenes, the women are a little too willing. It throws the story off when the woman fights and then suddenly is very much into the sex. Some of the sex scenes do run on the long side, and could have been edited a little tighter. There is also an odd effect at the end, which appears intentional, where the movie almost appears to be missing frames.

All in all, this is a great movie and a satisfying ending to the series that fans of plotted adult features ought to check out.

The Edition

The Resolution is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio. The picture, with the exception of what seems to be problems with how the movie was shot, has no issues. There are scenes with heavy grain and scenes with over exposure, but I think this is related to the shooting of the movie and not issues with the transfer. Color levels are beautiful. The Resolution is presented with a collection of audio tracks; Spanish, English, German, and French. All of which are Dolby Digital Stereo. The English track sounds beautiful and has no issues. The others were untested. Sadly, Thagson hasn't included any subtitles to go along with the Spanish, and what I presume is the original, audio track.

The second disc included in the release contains all of the extras, which are presented with Spanish audio. Some of the extras feature English subtitles. “Dog World: The Making Of” is a twenty-three minute behind the scenes piece with video of the filming along with interviews. It is presented in Spanish with English subtitles. Roberto Valtueña's softcore short film La Mujer Del Espejo, which runs for 29 minutes, is included in the 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio with Spanish audio only. There is a photo gallery with stills from the feature film. Last, but not least, “The Resolution Soundtrack,” which runs for 47 minutes, is included on the DVD.

Final Thoughts

The Resolution is the conclusion to Dog World. The movie is well done, with detailed plotted portions to go along with the sex. The director, Roberto Valtueña, has done an amazing job of telling a gritty post-apocalyptic tale that has the feel of a mainstream film with gritty hot sex scenes. Thagson has done a great job with this release offering a nice presentation and a bunch of extras.
