Dog World is a very well done feature film which is for the most part well shot, well acted, and well scripted. This works both in the movie's favor and against it. The story is, Luna (Salma De Nora) ends up in a prison in a post apocalyptic future where she befriends Jazmin (Lesly Kiss), another inmate, and the two struggle to survive through the hellish conditions within the prison. Luna tells Jazmin her life story leading up to her imprisonment.

Dog World does a great job of creating a grim looking apocalyptic world. The exterior locations are bleak decaying buildings. Interior sets are amazingly well put together to create a savage and hostile looking future. Dog World has an extensive soundtrack, which sounds like it was written for the movie, that helps give the movie a grim and creepy feel. The costuming is well done as well creating a Mad Max feel for this apocalyptic world. Dog World is at times an unpleasant movie to watch, with fetish equipment utilized in the dystopian world to depict punishment. This does add to the feel the movie creates making for a far more believable movie.

The script is well done as well, with a large portion of the movie being devoted to non-sex plotted portions that create a more mainstream feeling movie. The sex scenes work with the plot which not to say that the plot wasn't written to work in more sex scenes. The cast does an amazing job as well, with both the plotted portions and the sexual portions. One issue with either the script or the acting, I am not sure which, is that some of the sex scenes tone don't quite fit the scene. For instance, in the scene where Bunny (Dunia Montenegro) is raped by the two matóns (Samuel Soler and Robby Blake) once the scene starts going Bunny appears to be enjoying herself, where at the beginning and the end she is clearly not into being raped. While doing this does make the scene easier to watch, it does jar the viewer out of the plot. The sex scenes encompass a range of different acts, including a lot of various types of anal play and one scene with peeing in it. Viewers that prefer more vanilla-style scenes may not find the sex scenes to their liking.

Dog World was shot on video and does have some issues with how it was shot. Some of the dark scenes seem to have had too little light exposure causing heavy amounts of grain and there are some scenes have too much light exposure making the sky completely white. I am assuming that none of these were done intentionally. Other than these few issues, Dog World was well shot and has an overall mainstream feel to it. All of this works together to make the world shown in Dog World to be grim and ugly yet makes the movie work.

Dog World is a multi-part epic adult movie, which unfortunately means that you need to pick up more than one volume to get the complete story. This epic series is composed of two films, Dog World and the conclusion The Resolution. Dog World ends with the words “to be continued” and the next volume The Resolution starts off with “previously in Dog World.” For movies such as this I wish companies would release the movie as one volume with a higher price so you can get the full movie or at least clearly note on the box for the release all the volumes necessary for the complete movie. This especially goes for movies like this one where so much work went into making a comprehensive and interesting feature.

Dog World is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio. The picture, with the exception of what seems to be problems with how the movie was shot, has no issues. There are scenes with heavy grain and scenes with over exposure, but I think this is related to the shooting of the movie and not issues with the transfer. Color levels are beautiful. Dog World is presented with a collection of audio tracks; Spanish, English, German, and French. All of which are Dolby Digital Stereo. The English track sounds beautiful and has no issues. The others were untested. Sadly, Thagson hasn't included any subtitles to go along with the Spanish, and what I presume is the original, audio track. The only extra included on the release is a photo gallery with stills from the film. The making of featurette mentioned on the box is not actually included on this release.

Dog World is a great adult feature movie, not just because of the sex scenes, but also because of the non-sex work that went into the production making it worth hunting down to watch.
