Initial Expectations: Kris Kramski has a lot of positive talk around him, and I was really impressed with Porno Vision, so I have a lot of hope here even though I haven’t heard much about this one.

Initial Reaction: For the most part, it’s surprisingly strokeable, as well as artistic.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who likes heavy artistic styles used in porn and the stars

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks art and porn shouldn’t go together

Audio /Video Quality: The artistic feel of the movie doesn’t spare the audio. Some of the sexual sounds are dubbed or taken out in favor of bringing the music forward more, but there are still many of the true sex sounds left in. The video is the same way. Kris Kramski shoots quite a bit on film, and although I’m not sure if he shot this on film or not, it has the same style. It has some grain, and looks like if it were shot on film it was treated right. Heck, with how artistic Kramski is it might very well be a mixture of film and video. There are many filters applied to the video, so many of the scenes have tinting or other affects, as well as mixing black and white scenes and color scenes.

Music: The music is as much of the movie as the sex here, and has a heavy techno feel. It’s often the only audio, which helps give the feature the “music video” appearance that it aimed for.

Menus: The menus are nicely done. The main menu has some decent animation and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a scene title.

The Feature: DJ Groupie focuses on music as well as sex. Each scene begins with a short poetic message before it gets down to the action. Each scene is also highly artistic and unrelated to any of the others outside of the musical style.

Turn me on, and keep it going. Let the music play, and love me... ‘Till the man on the other side of the screen comes. announces the screen before Lola and Monica Mayhem start things out dancing around a black DJ. They move in front of him and each take a turn tonguing and fingering each other. They break out a double dildo, with Monica taking it standing up before having Lola bend over so she can fuck her while licking, fingering, and spanking Lola’s ass. They finish things up kissing each other and the dildo. It’s an okay scene that I couldn’t quite get into. The scene feels heavily artistic, but not necessarily erotic.

For pornography reeks of counterfeit emotions, we shall perform, tonight, for the arts. begins the second scene before showing all the people trying to get into the club as extras. Inside the club , BellaDonna, Claudia Adkins, Monica Mayhem, Lola, Joey Ray, Jason McCain, and Mickey G. all get busy as the crowd watches. I’m not a big fan of orgies, since they rarely seem to be able to build up much heat. This one is definitely the exception. Everybody in the scene appears to be really enjoying themselves, and it makes this scene into one heck of a winner. It appears that the crowd turned on the entire cast in the scene, and the more they cheered the more they got into it. There’s some good nastiness, such as hard anal and ass to mouth, as well as plenty of all girl action. Perhaps the most amazing thing about the scene is how well edited and balanced it is. Normally, as soon as you start getting into a couple or threesome in an orgy, the focus shifts to the point that you don’t have a lot of heat in the scene. That’s anything but true here. This is one of the best orgy scenes I’ve ever watched, and sure as heck made the opening statement about counterfeit emotions seem ironic. I can’t help but think of this as the Hokey Pokey of orgies, since this is definitely what it’s all about!

The Anonymity of sin, in no event, alleviates the seriousness of the offense. starts the third scene, which features Sharon Wild, Claudia Adkins, and Jason McCain. The girls work each other over briefly before teaming up to suck Jason’s cock. They both put some great oral effort into it before Claudia moves around to work on Sharon. Claudia moves up to ride Jason’s face while Sharon rides his cock, and then moves down to take Sharon’s place while Sharon plays with her tits. Jason finishes up the fucking moving between Claudia’s gash and Sharon’s mouth before dropping a nice love load between their tongues. It’s another very hot scene with great chemistry. Kramski’s art direction is as present as ever, but everybody looks to be so into it that the art and sex combine to make one heck of a scene.

The fourth scene starts with I am way to tired for the chase. I need an easy kill. before moving to another club scene. This time, Mickey G. gets to take on BellaDonna, Lola, and Sharon Wild by himself on a rooftop outside the club while Monica Mayhem gets a little attention form a girl inside and then comes out to watch with Joey Ray. After a little oral all around, Mickey gets the hard work of laying down while the girls take turns riding him reverse cowgirl style. Rather than pairing up, the other two girls normally move to either side of Mickey’s cock so they can play with the girl getting fucked. After watching a while, Claudia Adkins and Monica Mayhem decide to move alongside the others and start getting busy while Mickey works the girls doggie style, followed by Joey Ray getting into the action. Finally, the girls line up for a nice string of facials. This is another great orgy scene, and nicely changes from a decent group scene into the orgy. There’s plenty of heat between the original four, and the others joining almost seem drawn into the scene by the lust between Mickey and the girls.

Show off to the world, and join us in a conspicuous display of flesh, bodily fluids, and sweat begins the final scene, which once again takes place at the club. Joey Ray gives Monica Mayhem a good oral going over before she returns the favor in a heavily mirrored bathroom. Monica lets Joey have a seat on the shitter so he can take it easy as she fucks him, but makes up for it with a standing and fuck immediately after. Joey finally finishes the scene popping in Monica’s mouth after making her beg for it. It’s another hot scene with great chemistry, and a great way to end the feature.

DJ Groupie is another winner from Kris Kramski. Although the opening scene didn’t do anything for me, I was almost hypnotized by the feature after that. Although it’s not quite as artistic as Porno Vision, DJ Groupie is still heavily artistic. Unlike most adult films, nobody in the cast only has one scene and then is done. They all have several scenes, and all seem to really be into it. Even more strange, especially for a feature this artistic, is the level of heat in the movie. Once again with the exception of the first scene, there’s an overabundance of heat no matter what the pairings are or how many people are in the scene. Although I can see many people not liking DJ Groupie due to its artistic nature, I can’t help but hope that people take a chance and rent it when they’re looking for something different. DJ Groupie is one heck of a hot and artistic fuck feature!

Extras: Trailers are included for Hustler series such as Mr. Beaver, Hustler XXX, and Barely Legal. There’s also trailers for Porno Vision and Snoop Dogg’s Doggy Style 1. The photo gallery lasts two minutes with about six seconds per very nice snapshots. Of course, there’s also website information.

Overall: Currently, DJ Groupie can be found online for between about $18 and $26 with many stores offering it for around $20. Although there isn’t really anything for extras, if you’re a fan of artistic sex you should check this one out. The entire feature is very artistic, and it succeeds very well at a music video style feel for the movie.

Note to Hustler: This would have been a great DVD for an audio track with an isolated music score or a bonus DVD with the music on it.
