Initial Expectations: Penthouse has been impressing me lately with some very fun couples releases. I'm looking forward to this one.

Initial Reaction: It's never anything too deep, but the chemistry is normally nice and the entire production is very easy on the eyes with some nice care put into the locations.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, including the voiceovers, and although there are a couple background noises they don't seem out of place and don't interfere with the action. There is a little stylized audio where the music takes over, but it comes and goes and enhances the scenes rather than interfering with them. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks pretty good. It's well lit and smooth, but sometimes it seems a little overly soft.

Music: The music is very nicely done. It's well balanced with the rest of the audio, and changes style nicely from scene to scene. Once again Penthouse shows the right way to do music in a porn flick.

Menus: The main menu blends a little animation with a grainy black and white clip that gives a surprisingly good first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a clip of each scene along with the name of the ladies in it.

The Feature

As much as it was known for its photo spreads, Penthouse was known for its letters column of readers writing in with their sexual escapades. Here Penthouse brings some of those letters to life. Each scene starts out with the reader's letter being read before the stars take over with the pictures that are worth much more than a thousand words as they share their dirty little secrets.

Scene 1 – Katarina Kat and Niko

When smoking hot dirty blonde Katarina heads to Italy on vacation, she meets long haired Niko while waiting for her boyfriend to arrive. He makes his way down an outdoor path to admire her as she reads a book while touching her breasts wearing a little sexy white bra, panties, and stockings, and moves in to kiss her while letting his hands wander around her great body. Scene 2 – Mikayla and Ben English

Scene 4 – April Blossom and Moni Michaels

The scene is still very easy on the eyes and the girls do get into it pretty good, but I couldn't help but think that this scene could have been a bit better.

Scene 5 – Isis Love and Tony DeSergio

Add in a nice pace, well done camera work, and a great location and you have a winner of a scene that helps Dirty Little Secrets end on a high note.

Dirty Little Secrets is a nice little bit of porn fluff. There's a little setup for each scene, but it never gets overly long and often adds a little fun to start off the scenes. Katarina Kat and Isis Love had the winners here due to the beautiful locations and great chemistry, while Katja Kassin's scene surprisingly came in at the bottom end not due to her, but due to the low quality of most of the male talent in her scene. The action is mostly couples friendly even though the token anal and lesbian scenes are included, and even those may work to some extent due to the locations and chemistry. There's never anything wildly off the charts, but the action is consistent for the most part and maintains a very nice feel and style throughout it. Penthouse has been putting out some very nice lighter porn fare lately, and Dirty Little Secrets is yet another very enjoyable entry in their lineup.

Bonus Scene – Chanel Chavez and Erik Everhard

Currently, many Penthouse DVDs can be found online for between about $17 and $25 with several stores offering them for around $20. If you want something a little lighter and on the more romantic side, this is a very nice release to check out. The locations and girls are very easy on the eyes, and there's some good chemistry to most of the scenes. The technical aspects are nicely done and there's also a touch of care put into the extras. This is a fairly simple movie with plenty of style, and it ended up working very well for me.

Note to Penthouse: Thank you for changing your covers to show a running time for the feature that's meaningful and helps the consumer rather than listing the total running time for the DVD, which doesn't mean a lot and doesn't help the consumer much. Yes, the little details are noticed by some of us and it shows some nice care from you towards your product and for those who are interested in it. Now please include a behind the scenes featurette if you're going to credit somebody for it in the movie.
