Synopsis:
This is the one-hundred-and-sixty-seventh volume in one of Ed Powers popular long running gonzo style all sex adult film series, which features amateur females being introduced to the world of porn by him.

Audio/Video:
Dirty Debutantes 167 is presented with an English 2.0 Mono track, which is more than acceptable considering how the movie was made. Given the limited quality of the original equipment any attempt at a grander sounding audio track would end up with a similar result anyway. The dialog is clear and can be heard at all times during the presentation. New Machine hasn't included any foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the feature film.

Dirty Debutantes 167 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio of 1.33:1, which is the original aspect ratio for the film. The video presentation is decent, especially for an Ed Powers/New Machine release. There are occasional video glitches present in the movie along with some grain. Compared to some of the editions that I have seen, this is far from the worst that they can do. The color levels are set appropriately.

Special Features:
There are several extras on the disc and although none of them deals with the feature film, most of them do have to do with Ed Powers. These seem to be the same extras as available on all of the Dirty Debutantes series discs. First up is the photo gallery containing twelve stills of now famous porn stars from other Ed Powers Debutante films. “Love From Ed” is a three minute video clip of Ed Powers rambling to the viewer. There is a text biography of Ed Powers career. Transmissions contains audio excerpts from Ed Powers radio show Bedtime Stories from KLSX 97.1 FM, LA. The final extra is trailers for Cockless 1, Real Naturals 3, Global Warming Debutantes 11, Dirty Debutantes 47, Dirty Debutantes 157, and Dirty Debutantes 185.

Disc Design/Navigation:
This disc is designed in the same manner that most of the earlier Dirty Debutantes discs were designed. The main menu allows you to pick which woman you are interested in or to play the film in its entirety. If you pick on a woman, you get to pick from five to six different chapters for each scene, each identified by a video clip, except for Jolene's scene, which only has the one chapter selection from the main menu. There are 53 chapter stops within the film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
Ed Powers is probably the most unlikely adult film maker and star of all time. He's overweight and not very sexually appealing. He really doesn't have the technical ability to create a well done film so instead of trying, he revels in the amateurish quality of all of his films. Even after 167 volumes Ed can still be considered an amateur when it comes to making films.

This is the standard Ed Powers style film, he combines some nice looking females and some long sex scenes with some of the worst production values available. The movie equipment is very visible throughout the film and sometimes cameras themselves come into the picture while the action is going on. The lighting used in this volume is some of the worst that I have seen yet in an Ed Powers film as he intensely lights part of where the action is going on and leaves the rest too dark. If he had compromised and lit the whole action area less intensely and evenly the film would have looked much better. In a nice aspect, he keeps his little text messages on the screen to the viewers to a minimum here.

The xpanded version tag on the film is very deceiving as I, along with many other viewers, would believe that this means that the scenes in the film have been expanded from their original versions. This is not the case with this film. The additional run time is caused by adding scenes from other Dirty Debutantes volumes after the original film is finished. This footage could have much more honestly been called bonus sex scenes and listed as an extra. The original film has a run time of two hours and seventeen minutes with the extra seventy four minutes being from the scenes from the other films.

As far as Ed's films go, this is one of the better volumes that I have seen. Not due to Ed or his film making, but due to the presence of Cherry Rain in a couple of the scenes. If Ed had sat this one out and brought in Jake Steed for the male parts, this would have been a good film to watch. As it is though, Ed participates in the film. I do have to complain about the fact that during a perfectly good and enjoyable lesbian scene Ed had to stick his dick in twice just to mess it up. The females appear to be into the sex scenes, which prove that adult actresses can act and Cherry Rain is very enthusiastic going into her scenes. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with female masturbation, pussy eating (male to female, female to female), anilingus (male to female), blow jobs, pussy fingering (female to female), lesbianism, vaginal toy use, anal masturbation, toys (DP), male masturbation and a hand job. For viewers that care about condom use, one scene feature a condom for the blow job and the sex and the others don't.

Scene Synopsis:
The first scene brings us Kelton and Ed Powers and starts out with some female masturbation before going into a pussy eating and anilingus combination. The scene then goes into the blow job before going into the vaginal sex. The scene concludes with some anal sex. The second scene brings us Kelton and Cherry Rain and consists of some pussy eating, pussy fingering and some vaginal toy use. There are a few seconds of a blow job twice in the scene when Ed sticks his dick in.

The third scene features Ed Powers, Kelton and Cherry Rain and consists of a vaginal sex and pussy eating (female to female) combination only. The fourth scene features Vivanica and Ed Powers and starts out with some female masturbation before going into the pussy eating. The scene then goes into a female masturbation and anal masturbation combination before going into some anilingus. Vivanica performs a blow job on Ed before going into the vaginal sex. The scene then goes into some anal sex before concluding with some more vaginal sex.

The fifth scene gives us Vivanica and Cherry Rain and consists of some pussy eating. The sixth scene, from Dirty Debutantes 178, gives us Jolene Decero and consists of female masturbation, vaginal toy use and a toy DP.

The seventh scene, also from Dirty Debutantes 178, gives us Jolene Decero and Ed Powers and consists of a hand job and male masturbation. The eighth and final scene in the film, from Dirty Debutantes 208, features Desert Rose and Ed Powers and starts out with some female masturbation before going into some pussy eating. There is a reprise of the female masturbation before going into some vaginal toy use. There is a reprise of the pussy eating before the scene heads into the blow job. The scene concludes with some vaginal sex.

Parting Thoughts:
If you are not a fan of Ed Powers movies, this is not going to be the one that makes you into a fan. If you haven't seen an Ed Powers film yet, try Dirty Debutantes 164 as that is the best film by him that I have seen yet. If you are a fan of the series, you'll probably want to pick up this title as it is above average for him and the video quality is in good shape.
