Initial Expectations: I’ve seen enough bad interactive DVDs that I’m afraid of every new one unless I’ve seen others from the same company impress me. When I saw Andrew Drake (of Digital Lust, Pixis, SinTec infamy), my expectations plummeted to about the level of Atlantis’ sewer system.

Initial Reaction: It’s one of the best I’ve seen from Andrew Drake, but that doesn’t take much.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is a bit on the low side, which means you have to crank up the volume if you want to hear it decently. There’s also a few background noises. The video leaves much to be desired. It’s overlit and shows some very noticeable pixelation. On top of that, some of it is even a bit out of focus.

Music: None once you’re into the feature.

Disc Problems: There’s a loop at the end of the photo gallery where you get to watch blackness for quite a while unless you decide to watch it in fast forward scan mode, in which case it kicks you back to the main menu.

Menus: The menu is extremely basic and unanimated. It’s a nice picture of Brooke, but that’s about it.

The Feature: Digital Pleasure with Brooke Hunter is the latest entry in the virtual sex simulator market. It mergers the menu style of the My Plaything series from Digital Sin with the all black background style of the Virtual Sex with series from Digital Playground. Needless to say, this time Brooke Hunter is the focus of the feature. Brooke is a big tittied bleached blonde well known for her great attitude and obvious love for sex, making her a great choice for a virtual title.

Digital Pleasure with... Brooke Hunter gives you most of the standard choices of things to do with Brooke. For teases you can have Brooke show off her tits, ass, or pussy. She’ll also masturbate with a dildo, vibe, or her fingers or let you play with her using a vibe, your fingers, or your tongue. Finally, you can have her suck your cock or fuck her missionary, doggie, cowgirl, or reverse cowgirl styles. Finally, you can pop on Brooke in each sex position or during the blowjob.

In each case, the segments normally run close to a minute long, and never as long as a minute and a quarter. Oddly, the naughty fucking segments only last thirty seconds. Whenever you hit the end of a loop you go right back to the beginning, regardless of if Brooke was fully dressed at the start of the scene and buck-ass-nekkid at the end. The loops also feel cut off many times, as Brooke looks to be getting into it very well, is cut off in mid-scream, and you’re returned to a much quieter Brooke. It’s an annoying problem, and one that most other studios have moved past.

Surprisingly, there’s roughly a twenty second pop shot for each position as well as the blowjob. Unfortunately, only the blowjob pop is a real pop, and that one is so small that I think Brooke might have ended up needing a drink afterwards to wash it down. The rest of the pop shots are so cartoonish that I almost expected to see Quick Draw McGraw ride it into the sunset. Sadly, or maybe not with how funny they look, the same pop shot is used for both the naughty and nice moods, which makes it feel a little odd in places. Finally, the cum option is available in the foreplay menu, but it won’t work.

Unlike almost every other interactive DVD I’ve seen that Andrew Drake’s been involved with, the menu selections actually work pretty well here. You can actually change from one position to another, or from naughty to nice, during a segment rather than waiting for the current segment to finish. He’s also figured out how to make the segments loop rather than just playing and letting you return to the menu. Sadly, this means he’s finally reached the point with his interactive DVDs that other studios were at several years ago.

As with most virtual sex features, you have two angles to choose from. The first angle is a distance shot, while the second angle is normally a close-up. Sadly, the close-up looks like it wasn’t a second camera. The pixelation gets so bad that I think that the close-up area was just blown up from the first camera. It’s actually so bad that I think the second angle is all but worthless for the tease, masturbation, and foreplay sections. Some of the second angles are also from a different angle, which is mostly during the sex portion of the feature. Although some of them are true alternate angles, some are recycled, such as during the tongue part of the foreplay section. During that section the naughty video is used for the main angle for both naughty and nice, but the video is different. Although the second angle is sometimes decently done, in most cases it’s not even worth checking out.

There’s also the choice between a “Nice” Brooke and a “Naughty” Brooke. Unlike some stars, Brooke clearly lets you know the difference. The nice side comes off a bit hokey and faked at times, but the naughty side comes off as completely natural, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody who’s watched much of Brooke. Her nice side is light and playful, and full of smiles and laughs. The naughty side has plenty of trash talking, rougher play, and Brooke’s eyes filling with fire. It’s a nice difference between the two, and makes the different moods a very worthwhile addition to the feature.

All in all, Digital Pleasure with... Brooke Hunter is easily skipped. Brooke Hunter does a pretty good job throughout the feature, but comes off a bit fake at times. The moods are nice, but the pop shots and second angle are normally best passed by. The biggest problem is the overall mechanism for the virtual sex, which is almost up to the level of the original Virtual Sex with Jenna from Digital Playground (which had a production date of 7 / 26 / 1997). Digital Pleasure with... Brooke Hunter would have been impressive five years ago, but currently it’s unimpressive and a rental consideration for people interested in Brooke Hunter.

Extras: The slide show lasts about a minute with about eight seconds per photo that the camera zooms around.

Overall: Currently, Digital Pleasure with Brooke Hunter can be found online for between $20 and $25 with only a few stores carrying it. At this price, pick up one of the My Plaything or Virtual Sex with DVDs. This is an okay virtual sex feature, but isn’t worth anywhere near what those others are. Brooke does a good job, but the technical aspects of the feature and the overall design really hold it back. There isn’t much for extras, but that’s fairly normal for this type of feature.
