Devil's Playground (Sin City) Review

“Devil’s Playground” (the 2004 Sin City version) is a decent couples flick with some outstanding ladies and some pretty hot sex. Director Dcypher (his/her spelling) has some very good talent to work with here. Too bad he/she chose to incorporate every hackneyed porn stereotype in making this film: poor camera work, high heels on practically every girl, and a script straight from the junior high drama department.

The plot (I believe) has to do with Hannah Harper (playing the Devil) bargaining with Evan Stone to get another soul into Hell. I say “I believe” because the audio is marginal and Hannah’s accent makes it tough to decipher (my spelling).

Cute brunette Shy Love tangles with Steve Hatcher in the opening scene. Hatcher experiences some serious wood problems during what looks to be a great blowjob by Shy. After he finally gets it up, the duo romps through the standard porn positions before Shy accepts a facial. At least, we’re expected to believe it was a proper facial. But there was no cock in the frame and the whole popshot could have been faked.

Cute (but getting chubby) blonde Hannah is next. She and Randy Spears have a decent scene drawn back by Randy’s slow stroking and constant gaping. He does deliver a fairly good facial, however.

Attractive brunette Haley Paige takes on Chris Cannon in an outdoor scene by a swimming pool. This is the first of three straight scenes in which a condom is utilized. They frolic for about 15 minutes in a scene devoid of any heat that ends in a facial.

In one of the best scenes, Alex Sanders gets tag-teamed by Brooke and Tory Freeland. The blond/brunette (respectively) duo has a pretty hot scene, which gets marked down by an annoying soundtrack. They take Alex’s seed on their chests.

Hannah wraps things up with a tryst with her quarry, Evan. This scene has a decent temperature level and ends with a popshot to her ample chest.

The camerawork is terrible in several of the scenes, with the director/editor choosing to show the back of the girls’ heads as they give their opening blowjobs and long, enduring shots of the girls’ shoes. Folks, if you want to make a Playboy Channel feature, fine. Just don’t market it as a XXX feature.

The DVD offers a ton of extras: Trailers, Bios, Interviews, Behind the Scenes, Pop Shots, Photo Gallery, Company Profile, 800 #’s, Website poop, and Director’s Commentary. The entire flick is shot in letterbox form.
