Scene One
Starring: Dred Scott, Eddie Moreno
This is the second time I’ve seen Dred in action, and I think I’m starting to get the impression that he likes his sex nice and rough. Ok, so maybe that’s a bit of an understatement. Eddie makes the mistake of following Dred into an alley, where Dred grabs him and starts throwing him around like a rag doll. It looks like Eddie even gets a little cut on his back from getting slammed into the wall! They roll around on the ground wrestling and beating on each other until Eddie finally submits. Eddie gets a chance to show off his expert deep-throating skills before Dred starts tearing into his ass. Pure animal lust at it’s finest.

Scene Two
Starring: Jon-Michael Stuart, Gordon Gage
God, I love redheads! I don’t know what it is about them, but they always drive me wild… Gordon and Jon are no exception. Gordon stops by Jon’s store for some cookies, and ends up getting a treat of a different kind. Gordon gives the cookie master a yummy blowjob which ends in a nice facial (which reminds me, why oh why aren’t there more facials in porn today?). Gordon has one of those hot little hairy asses that just begs to get eaten out, and Jon does an admiral job stuffing his tongue up there. Once Gordon’s ass is significantly warmed up, Jon takes him into the back room and fucks him silly (Gordon has the cutest look on his face when he’s getting plowed!) My only complaint with this scene is Jon himself. He’s a handsome man with a nice upper-body, but his midsection seems a little out of shape.

Scene Three
Starring: Logan Reed, Reed Parker
I sure was expecting a lot from this scene. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen Logan Reed in a Titan film (has he ever been?) and he’s one of my favorite bottoms. Strangely, he tops only here. I always thought Logan looked best with his legs up in the air. Anyway, there are a few moments where the guys look like they are really connecting, but for the most part, it’s just business as usual. I think a flip-flop would have helped this scene immensely.

Scene Four
Starring: Gordon Gage, Bret Clark
Right away, when this scene started, I thought to myself, “What is Bret Clark doing here?” He doesn’t have a good porn star face, and his body is rather average looking. Once he dropped his trousers, it because all to clear why Bret is here: He cock is a monster! It’s a good 8 inches, and man oh man, is it THICK! When he slaps that thing in the palm of his hand, it lets out a loud crack that sends goosebumps down my spine.

Bret’s a trooper, too, and does his best to stuff that huge sausage down his throat. There’s some primo deepthroating here, with lots of gagging, and loads of drool. The fucking is a bit of a letdown, though. Taking a dick that thick up your ass is a big deal, but you wouldn’t know it by watching this scene. It just slides right up there with the greatest of ease.

I can live with that, but what really bothered me with this scene was the extremely sloppy editing. On two separate occasions, I could tell that they were “faking” it. Bret’s moving his hips back and forth, and Gordon has on his “Oh my GOD!” face, but Bret’s dick isn’t going into his ass! I know this is a rather common thing in porn, and I can accept that. I just don’t like seeing it. It kind of ruined the scene for me. (In Titan’s defense, I’m probably being a bit anal here… the “proof” of the fakery goes by very fast, and if you blink, you’ll probably miss it. But I did see it, and kept wondering throughout the scene, “Are they really fucking here?”)

Scene Five
Starring: Rick Hammersmith, Alberto Dias, Cliff Mitchell
This scene has done something for me that I would have never expected. It turned me into a Rick Hammersmith fan. For some reason, I’ve never liked Rick. It’s always been something I just couldn’t put my finger on. But all of a sudden, I’m finding him devastatingly handsome. Maybe it’s the stubble… who knows?

Anyway, Rick got his lover Alberto a birthday present, in the form of delivery man Cliff Mitchell. Once again, the oral is the more interesting portion of this scene. Cliff has a beautiful cock, and both Rick and Alberto really seem to enjoy sucking it for all it’s worth. Alberto and Cliff take turns boning Rick, but I kind of lost interest when they broke out the dildoes. With these three able-bodied men, there shouldn’t have been any need to introduce the plastic penises. Maybe that’s a sign of too many bottoms in one scene?

Audio/Visual Quality
I’ve got no complaints in the A/V department. Titan has once again made a great looking DVD.

Extras
Detour continues Titan’s tradition of jam-packing their DVDs with extras. The photoshoot is a tad dull, but luckily Eddie Moreno’s interview is a little more interesting. I especially liked the way Eddie was jerking off throughout the interview. The “behind the scenes” stuff is mostly just bloopers and line flubs, but there is a bit near the end that I really enjoyed. The three guys from the last scene were all sitting around between shoots, cracking jokes has having sex.

Also included is a cumshot review (and I should mention, there’s more than the average number of cumshots in every scene) and previews for Trespass, Jacked Up, and Titan Express.

Final Word
Detour is another solid Titan release, but it doesn’t quite live up to it’s potential. I really enjoyed the first two scenes, and while the remaining three are good, they just all had problems that kept them from being great. Fans of Dred will definitely want to check his scene out, and I was pretty impressed with Gordon Gage, too. He’s one hot little redhead who I hope to be seeing much more of in the future!
