The Review |
Synopsis:
The evil witch Lyssa (Audrey Elson) is attempting to open the realm of the dark ones with the thule gestaff and allow the dark ones to enter this world. She needs mystical and sexual energy greater than that of her own to open the portal and locates the fun loving demoness Demi (Ellie Idol) and her undead friend Vampirooni (Sinn Sage) and kidnaps them to drain their energy she so desperately needs.
Audio/Video:
Demi the Demoness Movie is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of approximately 1.85:1 and looks stunning. The picture is crisp and sharp with excellent color levels. No one should have any issues with the picture quality presented here.
Demi the Demoness Movie is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track, which works excellent for the material being presented. A 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track might have added to the audio special effects but the effect would have been minimal in comparison to what we are given. There are no foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the feature movie.
Special Features:
There are several extras included on the disc and they all are related to the feature movie. To begin with, there is an eleven minute intro into the three characters and their origins for those of us who haven't read the comics. There is a 22 minute behind the scenes featurette, which shows the make up work, set dressing, shooting, etc for the movie. There is a seven minute outtakes featurette which shows, as one might expect, unusable footage. To top it all off there is a 7 minute stills & art featurette, which instead of just giving stills from the film is a combination of artwork used and unused from the making of the film and stills, which all have text explaining the scene or art.
Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with functional silent non-animated menus which are fully suited for easily finding your way around the disc. There is a chapter menu with four chapter stops available. Each one is identified by a scene name and a still frame from the scene. There are four chapter stops within the feature movie itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature movie.
General Review:
Demi the Demoness Movie is the live action debut of the adult comic characters Demi, created by SS Crompton, and Vampirooni, created by Randy Vogel. The movie plays out as I would expect the comics do with a fun short story that has a nice comic feel to it, partly due to the excellent 3-D art used in the film by Rob Hassan, which retains the feel that you are watching a live action comic.
Going into this review it is probably important to note that I have never read the comic series about Demi nor the one about Vampirooni so I had no expectations going into this movie. That being said, this is also I believe the first adult movie that I have seen that I can only think of one complaint regarding. That complaint being the run time for the total movie, which is a scant 32 minutes. I don't think that adding time to the existing movie would have helped it. In fact I suspect quite the opposite, that adding would have brought it down. However, two other adventures of Demi and Vampirooni could have been included to bring the movie up to a 90 minute run time.
Part of what I think makes Demi the Demoness Movie work so well is the construct of the movie. Instead of following the standard adult movie formula that all the sex scenes be long, and involve any imaginable act, the scenes in this movie are short and run with the movie making for a half hour erotic ride. The scenes build the erotic feel in the movie instead of expecting the erotic feeling to rise and come to a conclusion in each scene. This style makes the half hour a perfect run time for the story. The sexual themes in the movie are lesbianism with pussy eating, pussy fingering, vaginal toy use, and female masturbation.
The story, while not overly long or complicated, fits the movie as well. The light story easily moves the characters through the scenes and instead of drawing the viewer away from the sex scenes works in conjunction with them for a nice overall complete movie that doesn't leave the viewer wishing for a better plot nor a less inclusive one.
The three actresses in the movie are perfect as well and adult feature movie companies ought take notice of them. They really got into their characters and become them instead of just stumbling through lines. Unfortunately, as of this writing, Ellie Idol who plays the lead, Demi, has retired which brings up concerns for a second Demi movie. The ending leads right to what could be a second movie but I would hate to see another actress put in the part. The three actresses have great sexual chemistry together as well making for some hot and enjoyable scenes.
Steve Steele and SS Crompton didn't skimp when it came to the sets. The sets are, simply put, excellent. To add to them the exterior shots are of 3-D art by Rob Hassan that keeps the mood and feel of the movie. The art gives the feel of our world, yet not quite our own, where characters such as Demi, Vampirooni and Lyssa could exist. The last aspect, costuming and make-up aren't skimped upon either. With complicated make-up work combined with extensive prosthetic use for Demi's character and befitting costumes all the characters really come alive. There is also some light special effects use that works to the aid of the movie.
Now that I am done praising the movie and all of its aspects it probably should be said that this isn't going to be a movie for everyone. If the X-rated experience for you only encompasses balls-to-the-wall straight out sex this movie is going to do little for you. If the sexual acts performed mean more than the setting, set design, story and acting than this isn't the movie for you. If you are the type of viewer that cares about the overall experience and wants more than just sex from your X-rated experience, you are the viewer that this movie is designed for.
Scene Synopsis:
Scene 1: Ellie Idol, Sinn Sage
Ellie spends the first scene licking Sinn's pussy.
Scene 2: Ellie Idol, Sinn Sage, Audrey Elson
Audrey starts out the second scene by using a sex toy on Ellie. Then Audrey uses the sex toy on Sinn.
Scene 3: Audrey Elson
The third scene is a solo scene with Audrey masturbating with a toy.
Scene 4: Ellie Idol, Sinn Sage, Audrey Elson
Ellie spends the scene masturbating and Sinn starts out fingering Audrey. Then Audrey eats Sinn's pussy. Sinn and Audrey grind their pussies together.
Parting Thoughts:
Demi the Demoness Movie seems a little pricey considering it's short run time, however, the movie doesn't cut any corner in the production and probably cost more to make than many all sex titles coming out. After seeing the work that went into the title and the involvement of SS Crompton I doubt fans of the comic will be disappointed and viewers, like me, who have never read the comic should get plenty of enjoyment from this fun fantasy movie. Now someone has to go and convince Ellie Idol to come out of retirement for Demi the Demoness Movie — Part 2.
