Initial Expectations: This series quickly became a favorite of mine, and I can't help but go into each installment with high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It's yet another great installment for my favorite Digital Playground series.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and I didn't notice a single background noise. The video is very nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen. There's a hint of grain to give the movie a more artistic feeling, as well as some nice variation in the lighting which yes, does bleach things out a little at times. Normally this would be a drawback to me, but here Robby D. appears to use it on purple for artistic effect, and it didn't bother me because it seemed to succeed very well.

Music: The music is very nicely done. It varies in style a bit throughout the movie, and rests very nicely in the background. It just noticeable enough to help out the scenes and to give them a more unique feeling.

Menus: The main menu, as usual, shows some good care and nicely works into an artistic still with a bit of animation. The chapter menu starts off generic with a clip and a chapter number, but kicks it up nicely by letting you know who the girl is in her first chapter of each scene.

The Feature

The Deeper series lets Robby D. get a little more artistic behind the camera with Digital Playground. He often gives the movie plenty of style as well as a theme, and this time the theme appears to revolve around a seventies feel with Jana breaking the scenes apart with a little solo tease.

Scene 1 – Alektra Blue and Jana Cova

Jana and Alektra start the action out with”dildos are just as good” after blonde goddess Jana shows off a little on a balcony. This is a great scene. There's great chemistry between the girls, and the setup is both fun and sexy. I love how the girls work back and forth with the toys, and with how the dildo is brought into the movie right away it seems like a major part of the scene rather than just a crutch to keep it going. Robby's camera work also helps to give the scene plenty of style, and makes it artistic and sexy rather than straightforward and sexy. This is a great scene to start the movie with.

Scene 2 – Paulina James and Scott Nails

Scott and Paulina keep things going with “my pussy needs a shaving” after a little more showing off from Jana. This is another nicely done scene with some good heat.

Scene 3 – Alexis Love and Ben English

Alexis and Ben continue the action with “Saucy Cheerleader” after a little more of Jana showing off on the balcony. This is a decent scene. As always Alexis looks great, but the scene didn't work as well here as in the rest of the movie. It often got a bit long and the positions felt a little more limited even though the scene wasn't as limited as some of the other scenes in the movie. I just couldn't get into this scene as well as some of the others.

Scene 4 – Jordana James and Scott Nails

Scott returns to take on Jordana in Party pussy as he wakes up next to her in bed wearing a tiara. This is another scene that shows how an artistic eye and sexuality can go together very well.

Scene 5 – Jana Cova

This is an okay solo scene. As always, Jana looks absolutely unbelievable, and she plays to the camera very nicely. She also does a great job playing to the camera throughout the scene without going overboard and mixes up the action nicely. The thing that held it back for me was the length and how it ended. Not only does it feel a bit too short, but it feels like Jana could have easily kept going. This is a decent scene, but a couple more minutes would have really helped it out.

Scene 6 – Katja Kassin, Marco Banderas, and Scott Nails

Finally, Katja takes on Scott and Marco with “lost Girl's get fucked”. I really liked this scene despite its limitations.

Deeper 5 is a hot piece of artistic porn. Artistic porn is always something that's a little hit or miss for me, often because the directors put more focus on the artistic part than the porn stuff. Not so with Robby D. here, as he keeps the artistic part of the equation nicely in balance with the sexual part, and never lets the former overshadow the latter. The movie has a fairly light and fun feeling that runs through the movie, as well as a kind of pulpy seventies feel that I really liked. Although Jana's solo scene and Alexis Love's scene fell a bit shorter and hovered near the average mark, I'd have a hard time picking a favorite scene from the remaining ones. I loved the morning after fun feeling of Jordana and Scott's scene, while the tease and slutty feeling of the opening scene between Jana and Alektra quickly won me over. Paulina's scene wins points for me by bringing the shaving fetish in nicely while Katja's scores worked due to how freaking hot Katja looked. Deeper 5 continues to show a great balance between sex and style, and once again left me more than happy.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery can be viewed either on its own or as a nearly four minute slide show with about six seconds per very nice looking snapshots. The behind the scenes featurette lasts about four and a half minutes. After a few shots around the set and a few words from Jana, you get a couple fun little Jana outtakes, one from her solo scene and one with Alektra. There's also a bit of Jana and Alektra's scene before a fun little trailer for Fuck Monkeys from Uranus. This is a fun little behind the scenes featurette. It's extremely limited, which just doesn't seem right with the low running time of the feature, but it's fun enough that it's hard to complain about it much. Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. If you like your porn on the artistic side with a big of variety, this one should be well worth your money. The sex is hot and varies while the technical aspects show some nice care. There's also a bit of effort put into the extras to help round out the DVD. This is a hot DVD that shows some nice care.

Note to Digital Playground: I can't deny that I really liked this one, but with the main release and behind the scenes lasting barely 100 minutes you might lose quite a few people. A bonus sex scene or two, bloopers, or maybe an extended sex scene would have helped this one overall.
