Initial Expectations: I’ve considered VCA’s Deep Inside series one of the best compilation series out there for a long time. I’m not expecting this one to change my mind.

Audio /Video Quality: As a rule, you don’t expect compilations to have consistent technical aspects. Thankfully, VCA pays enough attention to the technical aspects that their compilations are fairly consistent. The audio is normally clear and well balanced, with the only dubbing being in some of Michael Ninn’s extremely artistic scenes that are included here. The video has some slight grain, which is to be expected with a feature that’s over five years old, but looks great when one considers the age of the feature and the scenes it contains. There’s only a few shadows, and very few of those interfere with the picture.

Music: As usual with most compilations, the style and balance of the music isn’t consistent throughout the feature. The style is pretty consistent with your typical porn music, and the balance is normally very nice.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu has a clip from one of the scenes and VCA’s standard format. The chapter menu is nicely done and lists each scene by the name of the feature it comes from and Misty’s partners in each scene.

The Feature: VCA’s Deep Inside series adds a twist to the standard compilation feature by wrapping it around an interview with the chosen star. In this case it’s the amazing Misty Rain, who has a long and dedicated following both in people who watch her on the small screen as well as those who are lucky enough to catch her stage show live. Misty talks about herself sexually, her first porno experiences, and some of her fellow performers. After flashing back to many of Misty’s earlier scenes, things finish up with a brand new scene based on one of Misty’s sexual fantasies.

Misty starts things off with a scene with Diva, Debi Diamond, and Gerry Pike from Michael Ninn’s Sex. Misty starts out having Debi and Diva working her over with anal beads, tongues, fingers, and pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. Gerry joins in and works Debi over, including DPing her with the help of Misty and a dildo. He gives Debi a couple, yes couple, great pops while Misty and Diva works each other over a bit. It’s an extremely hot scene with great chemistry and artistic direction.

Misty gets a piece of Brittany O’Connell next with a scene from Pajama Party X 1. After plenty of rug munching Brittany finally does get her turn, and puts just as much energy and enjoyment into it as Misty did. Finally, they finish things up with a little kissing. It’s an extremely hot scene with excellent chemistry. After watching this scene, I really hope that VCA brings out the Pajama Party X movies on DVD!

Misty hooks up with Sindee Coxx and Felecia in a scene from Wide Open Spaces in the next scene. Sindee and Felecia start off in the bathroom before they’re interrupted by Misty Rain, who walks in as Sindee is eating out Felecia. They encourage Misty to join them, with Sindee taking the low road and eating her pussy while Felecia takes the high road and attacks Misty’s pierced nipples. Felecia soon goes down under to devour Misty’s ass and work it over with a vibe. It’s a great scene with excellent energy and chemistry, but Sindee gets a little lost in it.

Misty gets it on with Asia Carrera in another scene from Sex next. Asia quickly goes down and gobbles Misty’s gash before working it over with a large dildo. She lets Misty ride it before the scene fades out. It’s an extremely hot scene with great chemistry and energy. It’s really easy to see why Sex won as many awards as it did with scenes like this, but it seems a bit cut off here.

Next up is Misty’s scene with Jon Dough and Sarah Jane Hamilton, one of my personal favorites, from Pajama Party X 1. They exchange oral favors all around before the girls ride Jon’s cock and tongue. Sarah gets the first trip on Jon’s cock, followed by Misty letting him pound her from behind while she eats Sarah’s snatch. Finally, Jon pops on Misty’s ass and lets it drip down into Sarah’s waiting mouth. It’s an extremely hot scene with great chemistry and energy.

Finally, there’s Misty’s waitress fantasy with Jill Kelly, Tom Byron, and Mr. Misty Rain, Chad Thomas. After Misty explains the day’s specials, they all decide that she’s the best thing on the menu and they work themselves around each other to make sure everybody’s nicely warmed up. They move all around to make sure everybody gets action from everybody before the girls finish things up with nice facials. Surprisingly, this might be the weakest scene here. Everybody looks like they’re having fun, but the camera never seems to capture it quite right.

Deep Inside Misty Rain is perhaps the hottest installment of this series that I’ve seen. There isn’t a single dud among the scenes, and although this compilation was done early in Misty’s career, it still feels as if this is some of her best stuff! Considering some of the great stuff Misty’s done in the last few years, that really says something! My only complaint about this DVD, and the only thing that held the sex back from a perfect rating, is that a couple of the scenes feel cut off. If they were lackluster scenes with people coming in and out of them I could maybe see it, but it looked like there was much more to go with Misty and these scenes were hotter than heck! Deep Inside Misty Rain is a must have for anybody who’s a fan of Misty or who’s even just curious about her!

Extras: A short bio is included for Misty including a few photos, a list of some of her VCA credits, and a link to one of her scenes. The photo gallery lasts about two and a half minutes with about seven seconds per decent looking full screen photo. Boxcovers are included for Deep Inside Jill Kelly, Deep Inside Shayla LaVeaux, and Deep Inside Felecia. There’s also internet and contact information and the standard Jim Holliday narrated Hall of Fame featurette.

Overall: Currently, most of VCA’s Deep Inside series can be found online for between $13 and $25 with most stores offering them for around $20. If you’re a fan of Misty Rain, this is a must have DVD! Every single scene is a winner, and Misty comes off very real and fun in the interviews. Sadly, there isn’t much for extras, but the transfer is great despite the movie being nearly ten years old.

Note to VCA: This is a great series you have going here. It would be great if you’d update it with some of the stars who have been with you for a long time as well as some of your newer stars.
