It is a rare occurrence in the adult movie industry when a movie like Deception comes along. A movie where the plot and the sex work in perfect harmony with each other. A movie that is a must-see for the feature and roughie genre fans.

Kink and J.P. have brought back the roughie and the adult horror thriller with Deception, a thriller where Cherry (Cherry Torn) and Veruca (Veruca James) head out to a remote cabin in the woods they are renting from Randy (Just Lucas). Unbeknownst to Cherry, Veruca has a thing for her. The next day the two go out for a hike and end up wandering off of the trail and get lost; all the while they are followed by a man (J.P.). They end up camping for the night and the man abducts Cherry.

Deception builds the tension as the movie goes on. The film starts with a lighthearted feeling with both the plot and the sex scenes. Then as the movie goes on the plot builds in intensity as do the sex scenes themselves. The sex scenes are short so they don't detract from the story being told and they are an integral part of the story. J.P. has done a great job with the screenplay, which he states was inspired by High Tension, crafting a movie that makes sense even after the twists are revealed. The movie doesn't follow any standard adult movie formula, instead unfolding more like adult movies from the golden age. The movie has tight editing; the movie only runs for 54 minutes but every minute is used wisely.

The cast does a great job with both the sexual and the non-sexual material. There are only four characters in the movie and every one of them is an essential piece of the movie. The two female leads, Cherry Torn and Veruca James, are amazing in this movie. Not just with the scenes they perform but with the range of performances that they pull off in the movie. J.P. is great in his essentially non-speaking role that relies on his body language. Even Just Lucas, in his short appearance, pulls off his role.

Deception boasts some excellent cinematography. Much of the movie wash shot at night which was pulled off very well too. The movie utilizes excellent locations. Portions of the movie were shot at Naughty Pines in Guerneville, California, and the rest was shot on a mountainside. Some of the music used within Deception is your more standard porn sounding music, however, the movie also utilizes some very nice thematic music that helps set the mood.

It is obvious that a lot of care and work went into creating Deception, which shows in the movie. The sex scenes and the plot work together to create one complete movie which entertains the viewer from start to finish. Deception is one of the best adult movies that I have ever seen and I can't recommend this movie highly enough. I can't wait to see J.P.'s next feature movie.

Kink has done a great job with their release of Deception. Deception is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480i. The transfer on this release looks great. There are no blemishes that are evident within the picture and colors look beautiful.

Deception is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. The audio track works well for the material being presented. No issues were noted with the audio track and dialog was clear and could be heard at all times.

Kink has included several extras on this release. After the movie are the Kink before shooting and after shooting interviews to show that everything was consensual. J.P., Cherry Torn, and Veruca James have some nice conversations about the movie in this and it would have been nice had it been offered as its own extra instead of following the movie. There is the premiere Q&A, hosted by Aiden Star with J.P., Cherry Torn, and Veruca James from the premiere of Deception at the San Francisco Armory on September 3, 2015, that lasts for 16 minutes. There are bonus interviews with Veruca James and Cherry Torn together and then J.P. on his own that runs for 14 minutes. There is also a photo gallery and a text biography of Peter Acworth included on the release.

Deception is truly a great adult movie, the kind that doesn't come along too often, and, in my opinion, is one of the best adult movies ever made. Deception has a well-crafted plot that works the non-sexual portions and the sexual portions into one complete movie, where both parts are necessary for the finished project. For fans of feature movies and the roughie genre, Deception is not a movie to miss! Kink has done an excellent job with this release.
