The first scene gives us Ash Hollywood as “Frustrated in Phoenix”, writing to Dear Jack about the honeymoon being over with her husband, played by Xander Corvus. Ms Hollywood is concerned that her husband no longer finds her attractive and admits he is working too hard with no time or energy for intimate relations when he gets home in the evenings. Jack offers up a lot of great advice including suggesting Ms Hollywood to take the initiative and approach her husband in the morning. What follows is a romantically passionate sex scene between Ms Hollywood, dressed in a lovely powder blue undergarment set and pearls, and Mr Corvus.

Next we meet advice columnist Jack, played by the dashing Giovanni Francesco and his intern Kim, played by Zoe Voss. Kim and the cynical sounding Jack discuss whether he is a pessimist or realist when it comes to the subjects of sex, marriage and romance. Suddenly, an exuberant Mark, played by Michael Vegas, bounds into the office and greets Kim, whom he clearly is enamored of. After Kim leaves, seemingly unimpressed, Mark laments to Jack about his lack of success with Kim. Mark begs Jack to attend an upcoming party to serve as a gateway to Kim but Jack turns him down explaining that Abby wants to attend so he has decided not to go out of consideration for her.

Jack is then shown at home making himself dinner as we hear the next letter asking for advice. It's from Invisible In Sacramento. A knock at the door causes Jack to then meet Enrique, played by Ramon Nomar, who is there to pick up room mate Abby, played by Natasha Nice. After a brief quarrel with Jack, Abby leaves for the party with Enrique. The instant she is out the door Jack reneges on his agreement to stay away and calls Mark.

At the party we see Abby sitting with Enrique and Rachael, played by Alyssa Branch. During a chat between Abby and Rachael it's disclosed that Jack is Abby's former fiance and some of the reasons for their break up. Seeing that Jack has shown up at the party Abby approaches Jack and the two go off for another quarrel. At this point we get to see why it would be a very bad idea to let Ramon Nomar make you a mixed drink. Rachael sneaks away to find Enrique and leads him to a guest room for a sex scene that is exceptionally erotic and a “must see” for fans of Mr Nomar.

Back to the party we see Mark has found Kim. The scene where Mark is trying to impress Kim with his “smooth party vibe” is one of the funniest scenes I've had the pleasure of watching in a very long time.

Abby catches Enrique in a post sex cuddle with Rachael and asks Jack to take her home. The two are talking in Abby's bedroom and just as it seems they are about to rekindle their romance they are interrupted by Mark. Jack's next letter is from An Ex-girlfriend In Chicago wanting to know if a friendship can be built with an ex-boyfriend. Jack gives An Ex-girlfriend In Chicago advice he needs to take, himself.

Kim walks in to find a despondent Jack at his desk and she immediately guesses correctly that Abby has found a new man. She confronts Jack with the inevitable truth that it is time for Jack to move out of the home he and Abby share. After Jack leaves the office Mark, who has found himself emboldened by Kim noticing him, makes his move. He confesses to Kim his feelings for her and finds that she actually feels the same way about him. The couple then engages in the most tender sex scene in the film.

Finally, Jack decides to give Abby the house and move out for her sake. He uses his advice column to own up to his mistakes in an open letter to her and lets her know he is moving out so she can have the house. Abby comes home to talk to him as he packs. Finally, true love prevails and the couple is reunited. The movie ends with a passionate reconciliation between Jack and Abby.

Dear Abby is a brilliant production all the way around. This movie came out in 2011 and still feels as fresh and relevant now. Each of the couples have great chemistry and intensity in the sex scenes. The comedy in this film had me laughing hard quite a few times. It was a special treat to see the funny side of Roman Nomar. The acting is fantastic. In particular, Zoe Voss as Rachael and Michael Vegas as Mark steal this movie. Ms Voss has a warm, earthy quality that makes her implicitly believable as the straight shooting intern who can see through Jack's b.s. She balances that perfectly with the demure side of a young woman who has been enamored of Nice Guy Mark. Michael Vegas's portrayal of Mark was utterly sublime. Mr Vegas's delightfully funny, physical comedy was artfully done. That comedic high gave perfect contrast to the tremendous poignancy of the monologue confessing his feelings to Kim.

You could watch this movie as just a 'romance porn' flick for the evening and it would be well worth your money and time. However, there is actually advice in this movie that could leave the viewer with some valuable take away's for real life application. Call me kooky, but would it really be such a bad thing to improve your relationship with a loved one with something you may have learned in a movie from people whose avocation revolves around presenting the most intimate of relations two human beings can have in a way that is both positive and enticing?

Dear Abby is a perfect movie for anyone who hasn't watched porn before. The story is so strong that viewers who are nervous about watching “one of those movies” will be caught up in what's going to happen next. In fact, if a potential viewer is considering watching adult entertainment for the first time and buys this DVD there is a bonus feature which allows one to watch just the story sans the sex scenes. If, after watching it that way, the viewer(s) are comfortable they could then move on to watching the uncut version.

Dear Abby is also a terrific 'couples movie' because the sex scenes are graphic yet 'gentler' than most adult entertainment, as the line name “New Sensations Romance” suggests. Couples could watch the movie as a form of titillating, voyeuristic foreplay. The 'romantic advice' given in the story could also be used by couples as a jumping off point to open discussion around the same or similar topics in their own lives.

Don't mistake Dear Abby for “Women's Porn”, however. The sex scenes are explicit and hot enough for anyone who likes adult entertainment to enjoy.

I can not recommend strongly enough that you buy the Dear Abby DVD from New Sensations. If you buy the DVD you get bonus features including a really funny outtakes reel, photo gallery, story only video and more.
