The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Dark Paradise was darn good. I’m looking forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: Although it’s not as strong or even as its predecessor, it’s still very enjoyable.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good for a bondage feature, but lack a little compared to most movies. The audio is okay. It’s clear, but the balance varies at times and there’s some heavy background noises during some parts of the movie. The video is pretty well done. There’s a little grain, but it’s not too bad. It’s also nicely lit. It’s a little dark, but the darkness helps with the mood of the movie here.

Music: None

Menus: The menus are pretty average. The main menu has a little animation and the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Shayla LaVeaux is still exploring the world of bondage. This time she’s hooked up with Nina Hartley to learn a few things. Some things Nina shows her, and some things Nina’s just told her about. However she learns about it, Shayla’s willing to see how much she can absorb.

Scene 1 - Nina Hartley and Shayla LaVeaux

Shayla starts things out submitting to Nina’s control. She gets on her knees in front of Nina and lets her tweak her nipples and rub her pussy before Nina puts her on all fours with her ankles and wrists cuffed to a bondage table. This is a great scene. Nina and Shayla have excellent chemistry, and both really seem to be into their roles. The scene flows very nicely, and it does a great job of being a lesbian scene with a nice bit of bondage and domination thrown in. This is definitely a great way to start out the movie.

Scene 2 - Amber Michaels and Tiffany Mynx

Tiffany starts things out restrained to a table with her nipples in suspended clamps while Amber flogs her bald beaver. Amber puts clothespins around Tiffany’s pussy and works it with a vibe. Amber also flogs Tiffany’s ass before letting Tiffany tongue her twat in appreciation until the scene fades out.

This is another nicely done scene. Tiffany really gets into being the sub, and Amber does a nice job as the dom. This scene doesn’t have the fun spirit of the opening scene, but still works very nice. Amber seems a bit cold, but Tiffany’s enthusiasm easily makes up for it.

Scene 3 - T. J. Hart and Brittany O’Connell

When Brittany thinks T. J. is trying to piss her off she has T. J. worship her shoes and then lie across her knees for a spanking. Brittany rewards her by letting T. This is a pretty good scene. T. J. and Brittany do well at their respective roles, and Brittany has en extra glint in her eye which helps it out more than anything. T. J. is very subdued, and it’s hard to tell just how much she’s into the action. This is a good scene, and once again the sex helps it rise above the normal bondage scene.

Scene 4 - Nina Hartley and Deva Station

Nina starts things out examining Deva. When she finds Deva has a wet pussy, Deva confirms Nina’s suspicions that she’s been thinking naughty thoughts. She has Deva bend over so that she can spank her with a crop. Nina also works on Deva with an electronic toy and a vibe, and graciously lets Deva cum when she asks for permission. Deva gets the privilege of worshiping Nina’s boots and kissing her kitty before the scene fades out.

This is a nice scene to finish things up with. Once again Nina does a great job as the dom, and puts more into her dominant role than the other two doms in the movie put together. You can tell she’s completely in control, but at the same time she makes it very friendly and enjoyable. Deva seems to get into her submissive role just as much, and the chemistry between them makes this a great scene to end the movie with.

Dark Paradise 2 is another well done all girl bondage feature from Ernest Greene. Almost all of the girls are obviously into their roles here, and with Ernest’s reputation I don’t really have any doubts as to whether or not the others are into their roles either. The scenes flow nicely, and the sex in each scene strengthens the scenes well enough that it helps Dark Paradise 2 rise about most of the other bondage features out there. Yes, the scenes all end abruptly, but they let you see that the action does go beyond a bit of flogging and spanking (among other things, of course). Nina Hartley and Shayla LaVeaux steal the show here, but the other girls do respectable jobs here as well. I think T. J. Hart and Amber Michaels brought the movie down the most here, and that’s for the simple reason that they didn’t seem as enthusiastic as the others. Dark Paradise 2 is a nicely done bondage feature that shows that there is sex beyond bondage.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. This one’s worth the money. The bondage action is nicely mixed with sex for very good results. The technical aspects are also well done for a bondage feature, although there isn’t a lot of effort put into the extras.

Note to Bizarre Video: A little work on your extras could go a long way.
