The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Ernest Greene has normally impressed me with his movies. I’m going into this one with some decent expectations.

Initial Reaction: I think it’s the best all girl bondage movie I’ve seen so far.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants a little sex with their all girl bondage

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting bondage with a mean or dark edge

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good, especially when one considers the normal budget for a fetish movie and the age of this one. The audio is well balanced, and I don’t think I noticed any background noises. It’s a little muddy at some points, but never so much that you can’t tell what’s being said on screen. The video is pretty similar. It’s not crystal clear, but it is pretty average and well lit. Since fetish movies have a tendency to be dark and slightly grainy, this one looks very nice.

Music: The music varies in style a little throughout the movie, but is almost always very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are okay. The main menu is animated, but seemed cluttered and didn’t do a lot for me. The chapter menu is pretty average and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and a chapter number.

The Feature

Shayla is a fetish artist who works with pencils. She takes bits and pieces of reality to work them into her art, which is how Mistress Midori came into her world. She’s having trouble getting things just right, and Mistress Midori and her friends help her to visualize things.

Scene 1 - Mistress Midori and Raylene

Mistress Midori starts things out with a purple and pink wig which almost gives things a Japanese style, and both her and Raylene in latex dresses. She undresses Raylene and ties her up with bright blue and black ropes before flogging her. As Mistress Midori flogs Raylene, she tells her about how suffering and reward go hand in hand, and that the more she suffers, the more she’ll be rewarded. She paints a couple Japanese symbols on Raylene’s stomach and then lets Roxanne come in.

This is a nice opening scene. I love the use of color, and it’s pretty obvious that both Raylene and Mistress Midori are having a very good time. The enjoyment and artistic look really worked well together, and helped the movie start out very well for me.

Scene 2 - Raylene and Roxanne Hall

Roxanne starts things out gently rewarding Raylene with her tongue. She licks her nipples and then her pussy, and even teases her a little with her crop. They move inside, after an outfit change for both of them, and Roxanne flogs Raylene a bit more. She gets down to lick Raylene’s pussy and ass, and even works on it with a vibe. Finally, the scene fades out.

This is a very nice scene. I love how it’s actual sex mixed in with the bondage, and Raylene and Roxanne have nice chemistry together. This is what I’ve been waiting for in a bondage scene!

Scene 3 - Shayla LaVeaux and Roxanne Hall

Shayla gives Roxanne a little horsey training to start out the next sequence. She has Roxanne done up in full gear and flogs her while Candy waits patiently with a tray of other items. Shayla lubes up Roxanne’s ass and gives her a horsey buttplug when she thinks Roxanne is ready, as well as licking Roxanne’s bald pussy. She has Roxanne pull her around in a cart before taking her inside and slapping Roxanne’s ass with her crop. She lets Roxanne lick her pussy, and rewards her with a twat tonguing of her own. This is an excellent scene. I love the artistic look of the fetishwear, and Roxanne and Shayla play extremely well of each other. More than anything, though, I love how the girls bring a little actual sex into the scene rather than having it fade out when the sex starts.

Scene 4 - Mistress Midori, Candy Roxxx, and Raylene

Candy is treated my Mistress Midori next. Mistress Midori has her worship her boots and then cuffs her wrists before flogging her. Mistress Midori has Raylene lay back on the bench Candy’s cuffed to and lick Candy’s cunt while she flogs her, spanks her, and slaps her with her crop. They move on to work on Candy with an electric toy and to give her a little tit and clit torture, with Mistress Midori controlling both the pain as well as the pleasure she has Raylene give her. This is another nicely done scene. The pleasure and pain is balanced extremely well, and Candy works through both of them very well. I also love the variety that’s brought into this scene. This is yet another great scene.

Scene 5 - Mistress Midori, Candy Roxxx, Raylene, Roxanne Hall, and Shayla LaVeaux

Finally, Roxanne brings in Mistress Midori to work with Shayla, Raylene, and Candy. While Shayla and Candy watch, Mistress Midori demonstrates on Raylene and Roxanne. She has them start off kissing softly, and soon after has them slapping each other. She shows how some rules should be disobeyed since you don’t want to damage the merchandise, and then canes Roxanne for her infraction. Shayla asks for the next treatment, and lets Mistress Midori flog her and work her over with her crop. She’s rewarded with Raylene’s tongue as well as with a glass dildo and Roxanne.

This is a great scene to finish things with. Everybody in the movie is a part of it somehow, and it flows very nicely. It shows both the pleasure and paid extremely well, and even adds a bit of plot to the movie. This is a nicely done scene.

Dark Paradise is a very well done all girl bondage movie. There’s a little bit of plot, but more than anything there’s style and sexuality. Unlike every other bondage movie I’ve watched, this one actually mixes in actual sex with the scenes. It’s the pleasure and the reward for the pain and punishment, and it makes the scenes feel complete. Everybody in the movie looks to be into both, and with Ernest Greene’s eye it all comes together to make a great movie. The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for Spankenstein, Spiked Heel Diaries 14, Lusty Busty Dolls, and Dresden Diary 20. There’s also internet information, a photo gallery with about fifteen very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos, and cast photos so that you can recognize everybody in the movie. It’s not much for extras, but I really like how Bizarre put in the cast photos so that if you see somebody you really like you can know for sure who they are to find more movies with them.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. This one is well worth the money. The scenes are artistic, very hot, and even include actual sex! The technical aspects aren’t great, but for a fetish feature look very good. The biggest problem with the entire DVD is that there isn’t really any effort put into the extras.
