Initial Expectations: I’ve only seen one feature from Red Light District so far, which didn’t impress me too much, but I’m still keeping a very open mind about them.

Initial Reaction: It’s a well done feature and a very well done DVD.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very good for gonzo porn, but is slightly unbalanced at times. It’s never highly noticeably unbalanced, it just seems like the camera got a little close to one of the people. The video is much the same way. It’s nice and clear, but there are a few spots where the lighting is a bit over or under done. It has some of the sharper pans that are common to using a camcorder, but there’s barely any shake to the picture.

Tabitha and Jonathan’s scene was by far the most realistic, and had a chemistry that’s rarely found in features such as this. At the complete opposite end was the scene with Gia, Brian Pumper, and Darren James, which was so annoying I spent more time fighting the urge to not fast forward through it than I did watching the feature. Donna Marie is somewhere in the middle, as she puts out a hot scene and has great chemistry with Nacho Vidal, but pushes so hard at the end I expected a guided tour of her intestines. It makes for a mix that should give almost everybody something they like, while still keeping the focus on internal pop shots, which Vince also captures nicely. The behind the scenes featurette lasts about eighteen minutes. Vince starts out talking a little with Nacho while they wait for Donna. It moves on to the end of the scene, with some of the outtakes. Gia’s scene is featured next, and includes some decent extra footage before, during, and after what’s included in the feature. Lea’s extra footage includes a little bit of flubbed lines as well as a bit of cleanup afterwards. Monica Sweetheart appears next, with a bit of the photo shoot, a little sex, and a bit afterwards showing off for Vince. Tabitha Stern talks with Vince for a bit while having her hair done, as well as during her photo shoot. From this it also shows Vince Voyeur as a pretty decent guy. He jokes around with the cast quite a bit, and seems to have a very good relationship with them. It’s a nice little bit of behind the scenes and extra footage that does a nice job of showing the cast as real people.

Note to Red Light District: It’s great to see how far you’ve come with your DVDs in such a short time. I fully expected you to be another Anabolic who just transferred their features from VHS to DVD without adding anything extra.
