CSI: X is an adult foreign feature movie written and directed by Antonio Adamo that appears to be trying to be a “parody” of two titles at once, Anthony E. Zuiker's 2000 to 2015 television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Eli Roth's 2005 film Hostel, while never really being able to get the feeling right for either. The concept behind the movie is good and could have made for a great adult movie, however, the execution of the concept is completely flawed.

The plot has investigators Terry O'Hara (Viva Style) and Danny (Antonio Ross) who are sent to Slovakia because 23 girls have disappeared there. In Slovakia, the two meet up with police liaison Veronika (Kathia Nobili) and find that there is a sect of killers that are targeting tourists.

CSI: X looks glossy and nice but the plot has no real substance. The sex scenes are nicely shot and one fact is undeniable Antonio Adamo shoots the female form beautifully. Had CSI: X been an all sex movie, the movie would have rated far higher, however, it isn't an all sex movie and the plot, what little exists, is a mess. The sex scenes are crammed into the movie wherever, whether they make sense with the plot or not. The sex scenes don't adhere to the plot either, for instance, there is a non-consensual sex scene as far as the plot is concerned but the sex scene itself is completely consensual. The plot just completely cuts out at the end awaiting the next volume even though at that point the viewer doesn't feel like the plot has really gone anywhere to begin with. The actors and actresses in the movie do an excellent job with their sexual performances but the nonsexual performances are stilted and the dialog presentation sounds forced.

There is an agglomeration of errors in CSI: X. Some of the more noticeable ones are that all the Americans have European accents when talking and that the American passports are burgundy. While this color would seem normal to a European, however, the United States only issues this color for individuals out of the country on government work without diplomatic status. These are just the most noticeable, the list itself goes on and on.

Despite looking nice, this reviewer finds no way that he can recommend CSI: X. The sex scenes look great, however, the movie is a feature and the plot is an absolute loss and the acting is, for lack of a better word, horrible. Fans of the genre will be disappointed by this movie.

CSI: X is a multi-part epic adult movie, which unfortunately means that you need to pick up more than one volume to get the complete story. This epic series is composed of two films, CSI: X and the conclusion CSI: X 2. CSI: X's plot just abruptly stops and continues in the conclusory volume. For movies such as this, I wish companies would release the movie as one volume with a higher price so you can get the full movie or at least clearly note on the box for the release all the volumes necessary for the complete movie.

Daring! has done a decent job with their DVD release of CSI: X. CSI: X appears to have been shot digitally and is presented in anamorphic widescreen in 576i. The movie itself is presented in the widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1, however, the disc itself is only in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1, so no matter what your viewing device is, there will always be black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The image is decent; there is grain, which appears to be purposely added, and good colors with combing evident in the image.

CSI: X is presented with a variety of audio tracks, all of which appear to be dubbed and not the original audio track, if there even is an original audio track. There are English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian audio tracks, all presented as Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo tracks. There aren't any noticeable defects with the audio and the dialog is clear and easy to understand. There are also Dutch, Portuguese, and Greek removable subtitle options for the movie.

Daring! has included a few extras on this release. There is a 64 minute behind the scenes piece, a photo gallery, and the trailer for CSI: X on the disc.

CSI: X is a multi-part epic adult movie that requires another volume for the complete story. The premise behind the movie was intriguing, however, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. If you are a fan of feature adult movies because you like the story, CSI: X is going to disappoint you. The sex scenes do look nice and if that is all you are interested in CSI: X may be worth a rental. Daring! has done a decent job with their DVD release of CSI: X with good video and audio quality.
