Initial Expectations: It’s got a great cast, a great director, and a company putting it out that’s known for making some of the best DVDs out there. Of course I have high expectations!
Initial Reaction: It’s an extremely well done feature and DVD that shows why Wicked is one of the top studios out there.
Who Should Watch It : Anybody looking for an adult movie rather than just a bunch of sex scenes
Who Should Avoid It: Anybody looking for anything beyond vaginal couples sex
Audio /Video Quality: The audio is clear and crisp and nicely balanced through most of the movie, but there is some dubbing. The video is also very clear, and although some of the colors seem a little faded in places, it’s to be expected with the amount of outdoor scenes.
Music: The music has a more mainstream and country feel to it, rather than the standard groove that seems to go with sex scenes. It’s balanced very nicely with the rest of the audio in almost every scene.
Menus: The main menu has a nice little bit of animation and seems to fit the overall feature very well. The chapter menu allows you to choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene with a title.
The Feature: Crossroads tells the story of three women in a small town who find themselves at crossroads in their lives. Stephanie Swift finds herself pregnant in the summer after graduating from high school. Tera Patrick finds herself wanting more than her boyfriend can provide. Finally, Coral Sands finds a way out of the town and into a new life. Unlike most features that would try and blend the plots together, Crossroads lets the scenes stand on their own alongside each other, and makes it feel more like a view of a town or a dramatic television show.
Stephanie Swift and Erik Everhard get busy for their first time on a blanket in a barn. Erik eats and fingers Stephanie’s pussy lovingly before she works on his cock with her mouth and hand. She crawls up on his cock for her first ride and then lays back for Erik to pound her pussy a little more. Erik finishes it off with an internal pop, which although I normally don’t like does fit in extremely well with the movie. It’s a hot scene that has great chemistry.
Waitress Coral Sands, a great and realistic looking brunette who has a surprising amount of metal in her pussy, gets busy with cook Herschel Savage in the diner where they work next. She hops onto the counter for Herschel to work on her tits and pussy before kneeling down to suck his cock. Surprisingly, they only fuck in one position, with Herschel taking Coral very nicely from behind. Coral finishes Herschel off by taking an impressive facial, and possibly even swallowing some of his guy goo. It’s a very tame scene, but well done.
Alec Metro wakes up Tera Patrick, whose mother has thankfully left for the day. Tera gives Alec some great head, despite not even having brushed her teeth that morning. She does a great job rubbernecking his cock as well as giving it some vicious hand motion. Alec skips eating her pussy so she can go directly to fucking him. Tera rides Alec and then lets him spoon her before taking his love loogie on her face. It’s another very hot scene that has great chemistry and some nice humor thanks to Alec Metro playing his part to the max.
Coral Sands comes back for another scene, this time with customer Tony Tedeschi, who looks like he’s been taking a few classes at the Tom Byron Night School for Scuzzy Looks. She meets him at his car out back and after they play with each other a little, hops up on the door to let him eat her pussy. They move into the car so Tony can sit down while Coral sucks his cock. Coral lets Tony take her from behind and then on top before taking a great face full of spunk. It’s a hot scene that’s helped out a lot by the great chemistry.
Alec Metro finds himself a new filly with Alexa Rae. They drive out to the middle of nowhere where Alexa strips down for Alec before letting him give her tits a little attention. Alexa gives Alec’s cock some vigorous hand and mouth work before taking his spooge spray on her face. It’s an extremely hot scene, especially for being just an oral scene.
Finally, Tera Patrick finds a little something more like what she’s looking for with Mickey G. Tera gives Mickey a little show and then works him over orally. Mickey doesn’t eat her pussy, but instead goes directly to fucking Tera from behind. Tera also gives herself a workout by fucking Mickey reverse cowgirl while almost completely supporting herself. It looks great, and really shows how great Tera’s body is. It’s a great scene that’s very sensual and romantic, slowly taking its time rather than forcing its way through. Tera finishes it off with a nice stream of jiz on her face, and really takes one for the team by taking it in her eye. It’s a great scene that works great to end the feature.
I’m amazed at how quiet Crossroads has remained. Perhaps its because at the time, nobody in the feature was under contract with Wicked, even though both Alexa and Stephanie Swift later signed contracts for Wicked. The story and acting are both very well done and draw you into the non-sex portions just as well as the sexual scenes. Surprisingly, all the sex in the feature is couples only, and it doesn’t even have any anal sex. Although normally this would seem tiring, but it’s fairly varied and each scene fits into the plot nicely. Unlike most other adult films, the plot actually gets wrapped up after the last sex scene, finishing things off very nicely. Crossroads is a great feature that seems to be one of the best kept secrets among Wicked’s features.

Extras: Audio bios are included for Stephanie Swift, Tera Patrick, Coral Sands, Alexa, Mickey G., and Herschel Savage. They’re Wicked’s standard audio bios, which have a few stills, some nice personal information, and a link to the star’s scene. Trailers are included for Spellbound, Dream Quest , Sex Safari, and Pornogothic. Two photo galleries are included, with each photo lasting about six seconds in each gallery. In a nicely different touch, the photos are done in a widescreen format with a border around the sides. The production photo gallery lasts two minutes while the behind the scenes gallery lasts three minutes. There’s also Wicked’s other standard extras such as the Wicked Web, Wicked Casino, Company profile, the listing of their AVN award winners and nominees, and the Free Speech Coalition commercial.
Stephanie Swift and Brad Armstrong also team up to give a full length audio commentary. As usual, Brad and Stephanie have great chemistry together, and play very well off each other. They talk about both the cast and the locations, and what they’d like in the future with them. It’s a great commentary where it’s obvious both Brad and Stephanie having a lot of fun and they add quite a bit to the feature as it goes along.
All Access: The Making of Crossroads lasts twenty four minutes and features Ezra behind the camera, which is always a great thing. As usual with Wicked’s behind the scenes featurettes, everybody is nicely introduced as they first appear so you know who’s who. There’s also some nice interviews, so you get to learn things such as this is only Tera Patrick’s second adult feature and the first time Erik Everhard has done straight acting. You also get to see the cast taking directions and some other behind the scenes goings on. As usual, and especially when Red Ezra is behind the camera, it’s a great behind the scenes.
Themes: Straight and oral
Raincoat Factor: Medium
Overall: Currently, Crossroads can be found online for between about $22 and $30 with about half the stores offering it for under $25. This one is well worth the big bucks. Virtually everything about it is well done and there are very few flaws to any part of the movie.
Note to Wicked: Great job here! It’s nice to see you putting this much effort to some of your quieter movies rather than just the ones that get all the attention.
