Creepy Peep Show is a neat idea from writer and director Tarantino XXX; take horror films and reimagine scenes from them as adult movie scenes. There are three scenes that are based on films, that this reviewer is aware of, “The Shining XXX” based obviously on The Shining, “Psycho XXX” based on Psycho, and “Friday the 69^th” based off of Friday the 13^th. The other scene “The Witch” appears to be original to this production.

“The Witch” has a butler at a hotel (Tarantino XXX) seduced by a witch (Vicky Vixen). Out of all of the vignettes in the movie, “The Witch” has the closest attempt there is to a plot. “The Witch” isn't bad, however, the story appears to fall apart midway through between the first and the second scene, which don't really appear to be connected at all. The reasoning becomes clear if one sees the original version where apparently these were two different scenes (the second one coming from a segment called “The Dungeon” that isn't present in this version) and not connected that have now been glued together for the final cut version. “The Witch” is presented in black and white and has fake aging added to look like damaged film including, for some reason, fake handwritten editing marks that one wouldn't find on an old damaged film print. There are some poorly done special effects and there is movie direction from Tarantino XXX still left in the final version.

“The Shining XXX” has Dominik Kross finding Jessica Ryan in the shower and having sex with her. The viewer has to be familiar with the Stanley Kubrick version to truly understand what is going on, although Tarantino XXX does pull the curtain back at the end of the scene to inform viewers who aren't familiar with Kubrick's cinematic take on Stephen King's novel. The scene utilizes some absolutely horrible special effects at the end. What is so frustrating is that Tarantino XXX has a heavy reliance on CGI when what he is looking to do could have been done far more effectively the old way with makeup effects. The end result is an effect that looks dreadful and not at all right or realistic leaving the viewer with the feeling of the movie just being a cheap churned out adult movie.

“Psycho XXX” recreates Janet Leigh's famous shower scene in black & white from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho with Roxy Rox filling in as Marion Crane. In Tarantino XXX's version, Rox takes some time to pleasure herself in the shower before she comes to an early demise at the hand's of Norman Bates' mother. Tarantino XXX could have learned a lot from watching how Hitchcock did the shower scene in Psycho. “Less is more” definitely rings true here and I am not referring to the masturbation portion of the scene. Tarantino XXX's demise of Crane looks incredibly horrible and fake. This is a case where Tarantino XXX could have used inventive camera angles showing the audience far less of the attack, like Hitchcock did, to make it seem like we are being shown a whole lot more.

The last scene in the movie, well two scenes, are in “Friday the 69^th,” which has to be one of the most frustrating scenes contained within Creepy Peep Show. Friday the 13^th is set at Camp Crystal Lake and Tarantino XXX's version is set at Camp Pearl Necklace. However, outside of the brief opening, all of the action takes place in hotel rooms, which don't resemble camp cabins at all. Jason XXX (Tarantino XXX) isn't wearing a hockey mask either, he is wearing a much cheaper looking mask. None of the atmosphere contained here makes the viewer think Friday the 13^th. A lighting rig and light manage to even make an appearance in the scene due to some poor cinematography. Tarantino XXX again uses the fake film look for the two scenes here, one with Jason XXX and a camper (Sally Sparrow) and one with Jason XXX and his mother (Zoey Portland). Tarantino XXX has a giant warning before the scene about how it is all fantasy because of the incest in the scene, which brings us to the biggest issue in Creepy Peep Show.

What plagues Creep Peep Show the most is that essentially each of the vignettes is just a sex scene. Now, don't get this reviewer wrong, this reviewer knows this is an adult movie which means that the sex scenes are important to the movie. However, what is the point of doing a creepy peep show if there isn't a set-up to the scenes? That way the viewer gets the feeling more of the story of the vignette they are watching and who the characters are who are having sex, not just watching two random people have sex. For instance, in “Friday the 69^th” we are told in the second scene that Jason XXX is having sex with his mother. There is no connection made in the vignette. As far as the viewer is concerned these are just two random people having sex. If Tarantino XXX wants to play on the incest theme, he has to give somebody to the characters and make them more than just two random people.

The other major plague upon Creepy Peep Show is the atrocious special effects and the technical errors, like equipment and direction being left in the final cut. This reviewer gets that Tarantino XXX is working on a limited budget and trying to get around that problem. However, the technical errors don't require a budget to watch. Having lighting rigs in the shot is plain laziness on the part of the camera operator. Leaving direction in the movie is plain laziness on the part of the editor. Most of the special effect issues could have been fixed by using old methods. And obvious hotel rooms are used for every scene here except for the second scene in “The Witch.” More time needs to be spent on locations. If Tarantino XXX couldn't find a suitable cabin to shoot “Friday the 16^th” at, he could have lugged a generator out into the woods and shot there.

The sex scenes themselves aren't bad, which is good since this is an adult movie. The cast seems enthusiastic and appears to be having a good time. The editing in the sex scenes could have been tighter but that is the least of the issues within the movie. However, the issues that plague the movie make the viewer wonder whether the journey is worth the payoff. If you are looking for a polished professional looking production, Creepy Peep Show is not it. If the numerous issues that plague the movie aren't bothersome to you, Creepy Peep Show may be worth a watch for the sex scenes.

The edition of Creepy Peep Show that has been reviewed is the streaming only version available through TarantinoXXX.com. The version of the movie reviewed is the final cut version, which is different than the standard version, that runs for 95 minutes, and is available from VOD sites such as HotMovies and Adult DVD Empire. The main differences that appear to exist between the two versions are the original fifth scene of the original version “The Dungeon,” with Tarantino XXX and Vicky Vixen, that was in color is now the second scene and attached to “The Witch” segment and is now in black and white (and any set-up has been removed) and there is also a scene with Tarantino XXX and Zoey Portland that is now part of the “Friday the 69^th” segment.

Creepy Peep Show is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and appears to have been shot on digital equipment. Creepy Peep Show is presented in 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 240p. Creepy Peep Show appears to have been shot digitally and looks nice with a good looking image in this release. The colors look nice and vibrant and there are no noticeable defects in the video presentation. There is a bug that consists of a yellow box with Tarantino XXX and the A Porn Apart logo inside on the bottom right of the screen.

Creepy Peep Show is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo audio track. There aren't any noticeable issues with the audio track. The dialog is clear and can be understood at all times.

Tarantino XXX hasn't included any extras for this release. It is too bad that the original version wasn't available as an extra. Since there is only a three minutes difference between the two versions and the final cut version has an extra scene, something has to have been cut from this version.

Creepy Peep Show is an adult take on scenes from horror film reimagining them as scenes in an adult movie. Unfortunately, the scenes have a lack of set-up and noticeable technical and special effects issues that bring down the quality of the movie. The concept behind Creepy Peep Show was solid and promising. The execution of Creepy Peep Show was flawed and as a result, the movie comes across looking like a rushed and cheaply made porno. Tarantino XXX has done a nice job with their release of Creepy Peep Show with a nice looking image and no issues with the audio.
