Disc Complaints: The authoring is a bit funky, which doesn't seem to be anything too unusual with Homegrown. Rather than having the entire movie on a title that makes it easy for viewers to skip to where ever they choose in the movie (which is extremely nice if you get tired of a scene and just want to jump ahead randomly or if you're viewing the movie later and want to go to a specific point in the movie) each scene has its own title, similar to how some studios run their TV shows on DVD. This style of authoring has thankfully gone the way of the dodo with most studios, but Homegrown and Naughty America seem to be sticking with it. Both studios are distributed by Pure Play and like Hundies (also distributed by Pure Play) there's only recently been an effort put into their extras (although Homegrown DVDs seem to use the same extras on all of their DVDs). Seeing that lack of care in the same areas for several studios being distributed by the same company I can't help but think that the problem and lack of care lies with Pure Play Media more than anything. With that little care coming from their releases maybe the customer should just be glad that they get a time stamp throughout the movie.

False Advertising: The boxcover lists a bonus scene as being on the DVD, but I couldn't find one anywhere. I'm deducting a half point from the overall score because of this. This false claim (along with the 90 minute running time claim) has been on so many Homegrown releases for so long that it looks more like a deliberate attempt to mislead consumers than it does an innocent or lazy oversight. They've also added a new false claim on the back cover stating ”Join our five delectable darlings...” which makes it sound like there might be one threesome in the movie (as it also states ”4 Scenes – 90 Minutes”, which also doesn't happen. I'm deducting another half point from the overall score due to this false claim as well (not that I actually believed there would be five girls in the movie due to Homegrown's track record when it comes to honest cover claims).

The Movie:

Jessica, a cute busty brunette, starts out on the couch with Jack chatting with the cameraman. They don't chat too long before they start kissing and stripping down so Jessica can suck Jack's joystick. Cream Pie 59 is a pretty good fuck flick. Jessica and Jack started things out nicely, and felt like a real couple who might have played around in front of the camera before but who also weren't overly experienced there. Tara and Code were a little disappointing due to their limiting the action to one position, but definitely made up for it a bit having Code move in to eat his cream pie. Cate and Scott also do a very nice job, and although they seem more than used to being in front of the camera (Cate has plenty of other porn credits), the fun feeling really kicks it up a notch. Tyler and Matt finish things off with another good cream pie, and although the doctor setup easily kicks up the cheese factor of this release, there's still nice chemistry and a good pie to finish things. As usual with this series some of the cream pies are a touch suspect due to the editing and camera work around them, but I will say that if they're faked here they're faked very well and always maintain a feeling like the cream pies are all real. The bigger problem for me was that Homegrown puts themselves out to be an amateur studio, and everybody in the movie felt like they were more than familiar with fucking in front of a camera and the camera work is pretty average instead of feeling like somebody isn't quite sure of what they're doing (with the exception of Tara and Code's scene where it's obvious they're shooting the entire scene themselves). That brought an easiness to the action that was quite nice, but it's a different feeling and fans of true amateur porn might be a little disappointed because of it. Cream Pie 59 has a few faults, but also has enough good things going for it that it worked very well for me.

The Extras: The extras are the same extras one will find on most other Homegrown releases. Trailers are included for many of Homegrown's previous releases as well as a few of their upcoming releases. They nicely let you see who's in each scene and give you several clips from each movie, but unfortunately also lump all of the trailers under two chapters so that you can't skip a title easily if you've already seen it or aren't interested in it. There's also weblinks and a blooper reel.

The blooper reel lasts about twelve and a half minutes. Unlike most blooper reels which actually contain bloopers from the movie on the DVD, this is a completely generic blooper reel that spans the entire range of Homegrown's releases. It spans so many movies that it's even organized into areas such as bodily functions. There's a few chuckles here, but it's not nearly as good as it might have been if it featured clips from this movie and odds are if you've checked out any other Homegrown releases you've already seen it.

Final Thoughts: Although it never feels like real amateur porn, the cream pies appear to be real and there's a fun feeling to the entire movie. If one ignores the boxcover and how little effort Homegrown puts into their releases, this can be a nice little release.

Note to Homegrown: I realize this one's been out for a while, and I hope you've decided to be more honest on your boxcovers than you were back when this one came out and have decided to put a little effort into your DVDs as well.
