Synopsis:
If you have the key to the crash pad there are a few rules: Call before you go; Answer the phone if you are there; It's first come first served; You can only use the key seven times and then you must pass it on.

Audio/Video:
The Crash Pad was shot on video and the film is presented in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The picture looks great. I doubt that anyone will have any problems with what is presented here.

The film is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track, which works just fine for the material being presented in the film. Blowfish hasn't included any foreign language tracks or subtitle options for the feature film but has presented an English 2.0 Commentary track.

Special Features:
There is a feature length director's commentary audio track, which makes a great second viewing of the film. Shine shares with us practically everything that happened during the filming of The Crash Pad. There is a nine minute cast interview where the cast talks about their experience making the film for Pink & White Productions. There is an 8 minute director interview where Shine talks about how Pink & White started, what she was trying to do with this film and where she is looking to go in the future. There is a three minute storyboard comparison where the conceptual drawings to the actual shot are shown. There are nine minutes of outtakes, bloopers, setting up shots, etc. And last but not least the one minute short trailer for The Crash Pad is presented along with the one and one-half minute long trailer.

General Review:
The Crash Pad is one of the latest films to come from the independent adult film movement from first time director Shine Louise Houston and is a far cry from the glam all girl flicks of many of the major studios. I don't have anything against the films from the major studios but it is also a nice change to watch independent productions as well. Especially since the styles of the independent films tend to be more their own than being a formulaic adult film.

The film doesn't have a story in so much as it follows a series of encounters in an apartment located in an unnamed city. Due to the way the film is edited and written, the encounters feel connected and the film has a nice flow to it. This style works perfectly for the film giving the viewer an enjoyable viewing experience.

The sex scenes are great. None of the acts feel forced into the scene nor do you ever get the feeling that anyone is following a check list of acts that have to be included. This film doesn't suffer from the problem that many all girl scenes do that come out of Porn Valley, which is the feeling of an incomplete scene. Often when watching an all girl scene, it just seems to end suddenly, not come to a natural ending. This film doesn't have that problem. Two of the scenes feature the women squirting at orgasm. However the two that don't still come to the feeling of a conclusion. Especially in the first one where Dylan Rion is shown either obviously climaxing or having one of the best fake orgasms I've ever seen.

The cast members look good although fans of only the Porn Valley image of an adult film star will probably be disappointed as this film features real looking women. From their body types, to their haircuts, these women look real. One features unshaven arm pits, which isn't my thing, but I'm sure that other viewers will love that. When it comes to the sex, all the cast members appear to be heavily into the acts. You don't ever get the feeling that they are just going through the motions.

The sex scenes themselves are sweaty and nasty, in a good way. The sex acts include everything from simple vaginal play to a DP and some anilingus. There is a gritty feel to the sex scenes, partially due to the location that is used, partially due to the lighting and partially due to the realistic look of the scenes. The sexual themes in the film are lesbianism with vaginal toy use, DP, female masturbation, vaginal fingering, pussy eating, and anilingus.

Scene Synopsis:
Scene 1: JO, Dylan Dion, Jiz Lee
The first scene starts out with JO fucking Dylan with a strap-on. Then Jiz enters the scene wearing a strap-on and Jiz and JO DP Dylan. JO gets pushed off and Dylan rides Jiz's strap-on while sucking on JO's. Then Dylan masturbates while JO and Jiz kiss her and suckle her breasts until she cums.

Scene 2: Roxie Ryder, Dusty Ryder

Parting Thoughts:
The Crash Pad is a great debut release for director Shine Louise Houston and Pink and White Productions and I can't wait to see their sophomore effort, Superfreak. This is definitely not your standard adult film and won't appeal to all audiences. However, if you like to see more than what the standard studios are churning out, you might want to give this film a try and you probably won't be disappointed.
